He stepped into the daylight, the skylight bathing the tunnel in a brief reprieve as he exhaled. The trail had led this way, deeper into the earth-as expected- but he wasn't sure if he wanted to pursue it any further. If there was even a point. The ground and walls around him were solid, the thin pillar like structures might have added more stability to the tunnel, but he didn't think it would matter much if this place erupted again. Not that he intended to be here when that happened, the scenery he'd wandered through earlier suggested that it had blown its top somewhat recently-at least not long in the grand scheme of things so it was probably safe.

Was probably enough? For most wolves...yeah, probably.

He ventured on, wandering deeper, the darkness encompassing him as the red of his fur reactively glowed.

Kaino was no stranger to this place. She'd been here with Caedes once before and had traversed some of the winding passages. Not many others seemed to come here, so she liked it even more for that reason. Sometimes a lady just wanted some alone time, you know? Time to unwind, take off the mask for a few minutes. Time to let the muscles in her cheeks relax from the constant, confident smile.

The lavender and smoke fae had settled herself in the center of one skylight, the glow of the outside world shining down upon her like a spotlight all her own. The woman hummed a little tune, some old song that she'd forgotten most of the words to, but... when she came to the chorus... "I dooooooo" echoed through the tunnels, reverberating off of the walls. Her own voice sang back at her from a million different directions. It was a pleasing sound. Not too loud and a little eerie if you thought about it too hard, which she didn't.

A tirade of thumping cut the woman's song short and she turned her head, looking towards the big jackalope companion seated nearby. He sat up on his haunches, looking back towards the entrance of the caves. "Someone comin', Ears?" Mint and ice eyes continued to watch the tunnel, eventually noting the approaching red glow. Iiiinteresting.

"Speech"

Ronan's ears tilted, catching the soft lilt of a tune he didn't recognise. He hadn't expected to come across anyone else here, but he was starting to suspect that assuming as much just ensured someone was in fact around. As if the cosmos was making a mockery out of him, nothing new there. The voice came again, soft and gentle, a natural tone that would be well suited to offering comfort to those in their last moments, life fleeting. Not that many received such a reassuring end, he knew his would be violent, felt it in his bones.

He spotted her then, through the darkness, his eyes adjusting about as much as they could given the lighting. She wasn't alone, had a sort of rabbit with her-which he assumed was Ears.

"Just me." He came to a standstill, the shadows still encompassing his form, just close enough she could see the outline of his figure. The red of his eyes and markings.

Mint and ice eyes watching as the glow grew brighter. Soon it stopped and a voice reached her ears. 'just me' Hmm. "Oh, well as long as it's just you," the lavender and smoke woman chuckled softly. Kaino dropped onto her side on the stone platform and rolled a bit like a cat in heat. Wherever she went, the woman was the queen of that space. The fae emanated confidence and comfort. It was as though being in a big, dark cave with a glowy, hidden stranger was just an every day occurrence.

"You don't have to stay hidden if you don't want to," she purred in mellifluous tones. "I won't harm you unless you start it." Then she could most likely kick the brutes tail. Slender and pretty, yes, but Kai was also a very skilled fighter. "I've just been talking to myself in here. Might as well talk to youu-uuuu..." she said in a low, sing-song voice. Was there ever a more playful woman? Probably not.

"Kaino Saxe"

He didn't really have much of a reason to stay hidden, had nothing much to hide, but feelings shoved down like an old mattress folded in half, the springs straining beneath the tension, sharp edges catching skin. So he stepped forward, almost feline in the angle of his shoulders, the hunch of his posture, wings unfolding enough to show streaks of red. She was awfully jovial, her words carried a delicate, playful lilt to them, Ronan might have thought them charming if he didn't have such a log shoved up his arse. Ronan didn't go out of his way to start beef, he thought he was rather tolerant really-the many times he wanted to knock someone's teeth out he didn't. Restrained himself, even if it was quite obvious he wanted to do the contrary.


"Might as well," he agreed, shoulders shrugging just so. "Though if you wanted company I feel like this isn't the place for it."
