Freedom was something he would never fully understand. Yes, the mean lady was dead. Yes, he had killed her. Manic was safe now, he was safe now Manic had even said once. But would they ever truly be safe?

Monstera woke to the sounds of stillness and silence, acidic green eyes blinking awake until the world around him focused. He expected to see Manic somewhere, though as he raised his head and began to look around... he was no where to be seen. As the realization was starting to trickle in, he wasn't sure if his heart was pounding or seizing up but whatever it was doing, it hurt.

Panic washed over him and quickly pulled himself up. To give him the benefit of the doubt, he searched around the various ponds but as it was becoming increasingly obvious that he wasn't here, he began to whine. It was soft at first, but as he minutes passed it picked up. Where would he have gone? Why did he leave? Certainly he had a good reason, but until he knew that reason, he only felt abandoned by his friend.

a stillness in woe.
meet me in the blue bed i'll be drawing out your flaws and clawing at what's caused my knees to tremble.

It had been a constant juggle in securing the area around them from other wolves and monsters, which Manic barely did to the best of his ability. The young pup only spotted curious young wolves moving alone but with a strength and power that Manic hadn’t the imagination to even maneuver through the world as though they were invincible. He had always known where he was on the totem pole, using the morning and evening haze to move with stealth and quickness to keep himself from the eyes of an alpha that may want to turn them back into owned property.

Manic focused on finding himself some berries for him and Monstera, the large wolf took a lot to feed his belly and he knew the emaciated wolf had to always been hungry if that’s how Manic felt too. After finding a mouthful of perries, Manic heard a piercing noise that he’d been used to. A staccato huffing, high-pitched as Manic quickly gazed around the bushes that he found and made his way back to the makeshift den that the two of them had spent their time in.

Manic spotted his friend and moved his maw low to the ground to drop out the berries he collected within his mouth. “ Monster. ” His voice had always been rough and gritty, but he used his nose to prod at the other wolves body to have him to eat. “ Need. you. eat. now. Manic, here. ”

as a pup, MANIC is currently low-verbal, feral, and has a deep fear/mistrust of female wolves.
