Ornery as the day is long, and more stubborn than the average mule, Davey has decided that he's fine, thank you very much. He's more than fine. Better than fine. Better than ever, even. High headed and bright eyed, he's returned to the Raiders homeland and ready to get to know it even better. Exploring and armed to the teeth-- what could go wrong? Surely nothing. Nope, not in the slightest.
Especially when he dances over the border. Over and out, crossing the narrow strait and wandering his way to Silver Island. With a skip in his step and a glimmer in his eye, he takes in the expanse of beach. It seems to form a sort of crescent, curving and facing toward home. Not like he was going to get lost here. Carefully moving down the sand, taking note of the way it grips at his sore foreleg, the boy is keen to explore. Always keen. Always moving. Should he stop to rest? Probably. Would he? Nope. Charging on and enjoying the sights is the only thing on his mind today.

Wait... why had he decided to go for a swim again? Maybe that hadn't been his brightest idea. Sopping wet, Cygnus plodded out of the water and gave his fluffy coat a hard shake. The frown that planted itself across his mug seemed reluctant to fade, displeasure written plainly across his features. He supposed if he meant to explore all these different lands that he'd just have to get over his aversion to water. Didn't mean he had to love it, though, not even a little bit. At least the scenery made it worth it... hopefully? Cygnus flicked his tufted ears, brows pulling together taut as he surveyed his surroundings. The beach stretched and arched out far ahead of him, the shoreline curving into itself. It made this island feel secluded, though Cygnus knew he'd be foolish to assume he was the only inhabitant here, especially with how teeming with life this place seemed to be. A flock of tropical birds suddenly soared overhead, taking flight from the nearby trees, and his gaze lifted to follow their path as they headed back to mainland. Treading sand, he carried on down the shore, trying to plan how he ought to tackle his surveying of this place. Maybe scout the beach, see if there was anything of interest here? His nose wrinkled as he caught sight of a young wolf heading the same way, and he let out as loud a mew as he could muster before heading the boy's way. "Hey kid!" The lynx called out, bobbed tail giving a little wiggle as he moved to close the distance between the two of them. "You ever been to this place before?" |

The false prophet allows himself to drink in the sand, the sun, the salt air on his coat. Summer is a nice enough season to explore like this, and it's a gorgeous day. Slushing through the pale sand and thinking about just how much effort this was going to take... worth it? Probably. Nearing the treeline, a flock of brightly colored birds takes to the sky. He's scared them, and that's... not the worst thing, actually. Watching as they circle overhead and take off, he figures there's more somewhere. So many more. They'd make for good chasing, if he finds the right footing. There has to be solid ground further inland, right?
A voice catches him, along with a... meow? Davey's head snaps around, gaze curious as it lands on something that certainly isn't a wolf. Less wolf than he is, in fact, not a wolf at all. Head cocking to the side as his vision focuses on a lynx, suspicion clear in his bicolored gaze. At least the cat didn't look aggressive, just... curious?
Right, he'd asked Davey a question. "Only from the opposite shore, never up close." He meets the lynx half way, though he leaves a respectable distance between them. Could never be too careful, especially when it came to things that aren't... like him. "You tryin'a explore, too?" At least if someone else is with him, the chances of getting hopelessly lost went down.

The gorgeous scenery isn't lost on him, though Cygnus is admittedly distracted by just how damn wet he is. It makes walking feel even more arduous, sand clinging to his paws with each step. At least with the sun beaming brightly overhead, warming his fur, he ought to dry soon enough. Hopefully he wouldn't be entirely covered in sand by then. The lynx kept his distance as he drew closer, always wary of other creatures- only around felines did his guard lower just a bit. "Yeah, same here. Never really been to these parts," he admitted with ease. His attention was briefly distracted by the waves that lapped against the shoreline, noting the various shells that could been seen throughout the sand. Maybe some would be worth keeping... His gaze scoured his immediate surroundings before settling back on Davey. "Was hopin' to. Could do it together, if you want," he suggested. It didn't hurt to have company, even if the company was a child. Where were his parents, anyway? Did his sort tend to not stay close to his parents? He didn't know, and didn't care enough to ask. None of his business, as far as he was concerned. "Name's Cygnus, by the way." If the kid didn't want to hang out, that was fine too. Starting to move again, he angled himself slightly further inland. The trees that sprang up ahead of them provided thick coverage, and he found himself eager to explore what may lay within the woods. |
