Marrow
At first the tremors had excited her. Marrow had been dreaming about bison and thought she'd actually managed to wake up to a stampede. However, when she'd stuck her head out into the night she saw no prey, only a thick, humming darkness that seemed to have swallowed the moon and stars. It gave her the heebie jeebies so she opted to stay in her makeshift den that night before heading out in the morning to explore.
The spires were incredibly fascinating, she'd never seen anything like them before and she couldn't remember them ever being in this area but perhaps she was misremembering. Marrow sniffed a spire near the cavern entrance, stretching up on her hind paws as she examined the markings on it. Hmmm…

Wendigo poked around at the spires with what was dangerously approaching boredom. The strange night had turned to day, and he'd come to investigate the earthquake only to find this strange new land. You'd think that alone would have been enough to interest him, but Wendigo was a wolf of refined needs, and a bunch of motionless, spiky rocks with no movement wasn't enough to hold his admittedly terrible attention span for long. He'd started considering painting the rocks with blood, just for something more interesting to do. Luckily for the... motionless rocks... entertainment came before he'd resorted to petty vandalism, in the form of his very most interesting friend, Marrow. At the scent of her, his muzzle gaped open in a boyish grin, and the big male bounded through the rocks to find her. "Marroooooww!" he sang out, finally pouncing around a stone in the hopes of startling her.
