See You Later Alligator

From their first encounter, Redrum had made it obvious that he was keen on unraveling mysteries. Well, that's kind of what they were doing today. The island was somewhere that Star hadn't visited yet, though she'd heard tales of the monstrous reptiles that inhabited the place. Starchild wasn't a fighter by any means, so it seemed like a good idea to bring backup. Dundee would attack things ten times his size, but that didn't mean that he'd win. Star was putting her money on Red if things went sour.

The pair took a nice, sturdy canoe across the water and to the island. The waves were fairly calm today, so it hadn't been too difficult. From the sea, Star could see the strange rock formations rising up out of the water. The plateaus of stone did indeed look like giant scales, their ends overlapping and sticking up out of the ocean. The nearer they came, the more she could smell the stench of reptiles. They had this strange, acrid scent about them that was somehow sweet and sour at the same time. The striped woman wrinkled her nose and cast a look back at Red. Dundee was already growling his displeasure. Up above, Merlin circled, keeping an eye out for danger.
