ooc: prefer someone he hasn't met. please neither vereux, athena, or argent. he's trying to avoid them.

The residuum that followed the storm that had shaken the land, had left the child in a precarious position. His mother, his supposed care-taker, the one who was supposed to be there for him, raise him from an infant had vanished, and suddenly returned. The emotions that coursed through him were various, from anger to despair. He didn't want to be around his siblings, hadn't returned to the den they had shared since the meeting, instead, he had taken shelter under a bush as the ash rained down. He didn't want to look at them. It would have been far easier if the scouts his father had sent out, had reported his mother as dead. Death was easier to deal with than disappointment. He was furious with her. He didn't want to speak with her, at the same time he wished she'd press into him, shower him with the affection and love that he had missed.

The emotionally paralyzed child was at the edge of a small pool, his amber gaze reflecting in the water. His eyes were dull, coat becoming splotchy. He was starving and he simply couldn't care, couldn't feel. His head ducked down, he stared into the water, looking at the reflection of his mothers coat. He felt as if he wasn't even his father's. Had that been a lie? He looked nothing like the pale king. He felt nothing like him. Could he really be his fathers son? A sigh left him, and he pushed himself to his paws. Turning from the pool, he plodded away from the water, his eyes downcast, watching the ground as he walked, not really paying attention. Where could a pup who trusted no one turn too?

Esperanza was trailing through the sheet of white, the ebony color of her pelt showing her as if she was holding up a sign of her presence. She sniffed around and soon caught a scent of Glaciem, but, it was a small scent, unlike an adult wolf's strong scent. She walked through the snow continuously and soon, she spotted a small ball of fluff out of the corner of her emerald orb. She turned and looked to the pup as she gave a small smile.

"You're King Isardis's son, are you?" She asked and lied down near the pup, not wanting to terrorize the young male. She was different than her pack, that she understood. She didn't know the reason why she joined, but she could only feel that she could show some kindness to these wolves, and perhaps help them in any way possible. "I am nicer than the other pack mates, why are you out here alone, if you do not mind me asking?" She tilted her crown to the side slightly as she kept the gentle smile plastered on her face. "My name is Esperanza, and I am one of the somewhat new broods of the pack, may I ask what your name is?"

Laying there brooding, he gave a slight start as a voice interrupted his droll thoughts. He lifted his head, to see a black she-wolf laying down near him, and his amber eyes narrowed slightly. She was intruding on his space- his solitude, a fact on which he chose not to comment. His ear flicked towards her when she spoke, first asking if he was the son of Isardis. With a scoff of laughter, he'd reply, "Supposedly." The subject of his father was touchy, he felt disassociated from the king, like he wasn't worthy to be called his son. She went on to say that she was nicer than his other pack-mates, and his ears flattened against his head, he didn't know what to say to that.

She introduced herself as Esperenza, and inquired to his name. With a slightly brisk tone, he'd reply, "Genesis. Genesis is my name." That was perhaps one of the odd things that he liked about himself, his name. Something about it appealed to him, but he wasn't sure what. He didn't know what to say- she was one of the few wolves he had talked too without biting their heads off, and being rude was really all he knew how to do. "Did you want something?" He'd ask, not to nicely, resorting back to the things that he knew. Not that his behavior had won him any friends, but he had come to think that perhaps it was better that way.
