His body still often hurt, but thanks to the knowledge of the skilled healer who came upon them Kyda had survived his run in with the large black panther that had taken his sign of manhood away from him. The other was caring for him now, as Kyda recovered. The black, white, and tan brute, due to his condition, couldn't have been moved very far, though he now rested upon some moss and plants that the other had been kind enough to set up for him. The willow tree, with its low hanging branches, offered protection from the sun, though not so much from rain. Kyda had been resting for a good bit of time, and it was nearing afternoon when soft blue eyes would slowly flutter open. Some sunlight was filtering down through the leaves and branches of the willow tree, enough to wake him, though the shade of the tree kept things cool. Birdsong filled the air, and he gave a soft sigh, setting his head back on his paws as he glanced around.

Shilah, the healer, wasn't around at the moment. Kyda hadn't had the chance to talk with him much, mostly sleeping and staying put so he wouldn't accidently tear the wound open again. His ears would flick up, and he would give a soft sigh. Though he didn't know the other well, he was incredibly grateful that he had helped him and even more happy that someone had stuck with him for so long. It made him, for the first time in months, truly feel cared for by another wolf. He figured that Shilah was probably searching for more herbs, or possibly hunting. It would be a bit of a boring wait, and there was the chance he might dose off again before the other male got back, but he would try to remain awake this time. He wanted to talk with his savior... learn more about him, and most importantly get to thank him for taking care of him while he was in this state.

Shay's passage over the land was marked with stumbled pauses, where he would shake his head roughly, reorient himself, and move along again. He had left the volcano after the storm, deciding it to be too dangerous to continue there. His caution came too late, however, as the unexpected eruption had left it's permanent mark. His right ear had never healed properly - likely debris had damaged the inner workings of the ear far more than a simple ruptured eardrum could account for. He was completely deaf in that ear, and he often found himself unbalanced now. He was slowly learning to compensate for the handicap, though, and he expected to be functioning at close to his old self again shortly.

Another pause, another shake of his head, but this time Shay didn't move on again. Something had caught his interest - there, beneath a willow tree, the outline of another wolf. Shay was not the sort of wolf who needed to be around other wolves, but rare was the time he did not indulge his curiosity if he did happen upon one. What could he learn from this encounter? What could he take away from it that may assist him in the only real meaning life had - survival?

So Shay ghosted up to the tree, making no effort to hide himself but silent by nature. "Hello," he spoke simply to the wolf. An all-purpose greeting, hello. Informal enough to make a wolf relaxed, formal enough to not put them off. It seemed the most efficient choice in this case.

The woman ran and ran, her lungs burned but she fought it. Ever since she got caught in the ash and saved Ky her lungs had been damaged. It was a problem she would have to get use to and work with. A problem that pestered her. If she was going to challenge and fight for a pack she would have to train to fight with an injury. Spars were needed, though that was not an issue. The girl loved a good fight. A slash of paws and snap of jaws brought her such joy. It was the thrill of battle and the excitement of winning. The girl did kill, but only her enemies. Only when needed. She thought of all this to keep her mind off of the pain within her chest. Her eyes flicked around the wooded area quickly as she ran but a voice rang out through the air. The woman stopped quickly, coming to a quick hault. Six sniffed the air and looked to her left to see a pair of Wolves. The behemoth tilted her head and slithered closer, her breath was short. She coughed, giving away her position. The girl smiled and let forth a simple greeting, "Hello."

ooc: does shilah know kyda's name?

Shilah had been out gathering more herbs, namely elderberries. The elderberries were key to keep his patients immune system up and running as that was his main concern at the moment. The injury was delicate. Any subsequent infection could prove extremely dire. He also carried with him some st. johns wort to help with the inflammation of the injury. There were enough dandelions near the den that he could change the plug if needed.

Shilah arrived back at his makshift den site to see to wolves there. His fur stood on end for a moment but neither seemed terribly aggressive. Probably a pair of curious loners. One of his ears flicked as he moved forward, setting the herbs down by his patient. "Ahh? finally awake I see. Feeling any better?" He turned to the femme and the male. "And we have company as well. Greetings, I'm Shilah of the Nomads, a healer. I see you've chance upon me and a patient. Can I help you?"

Ooc:: Not yet. Kyda has been very out of it / sleeping most of the time and hasn't really spoken to Shilah yet.

Honestly Kyda hadn't been expecting any other wolf to come along. His ears would perk forward as he heard the sound of an approaching wolf. He would turn soft blue orbs in that direction, expecting to find the healer who had so kindly been taking care of him. The wolf who he owed his life to. From what Kyda had noticed during his time awake not too many scents lingered in this area so wolves didn't likely frequent the place. His attention would get distracted for a moment, and he would get distracted by an insect that flew past his nose, following the bug the best he could with his eyes until it disappeared from view. For a few, long, moments the dark colored brute would watch after it, almost having a disappointed look on his face. As if he were a pup who just lost something they were playing with. It was then that a voice, so simple in greeting, would reach his ears, and Kyda would turn to look at the other male.

For a moment he watched the other brute, a smile coming to his face as his tail started to wag gently back and forth. "Hello, yes." It was clear from the look on Kyda's face that he was happy to have company, his run in with the black cat remembered, but since it wasn't another wolf that had done it the brute still naively trusted all of his kind, though he was well aware that they often got put off for some reason. The poor thing couldn't figure it out -- he was normal, to himself, in every single way. He would turn his gaze to the female who coughed. She was large, smiling and giving a greeting as well. Kyda's heart lightened a bit more. More wolves! This was definitely a good day. His ears twitched happily. "Hello, hello~~" His voice reflected his merriment at the fact others were appearing. He wouldn't be able to get up and play with them, as he was still in the healing process, and even with his damaged mind he knew better than to try and move much, or without his healer's words.

He hadn't been around too many others all that often. The wolves here weren't necessarily that eager to spend their time with him, and so far he had only chanced across meeting two males who took any time with him. But that was okay. He was sure, at some point, he would meet wolves who were like those from his old pack, and then the lost princess wouldn't feel so alone. He had picked up on, at least, that wolves didn't seem to like it so much, or at least not acknowledge it, when he mentioned his royal heritage, so he decided, for now, to leave that part out when he introduced himself. But the wolves weren't finished showing up just yet. The third to come to the part of added wolves was his healer, who Kyda looked to as he questioned him, giving a nod of his head. "Better, yes much! Skilled are quite you." He was sincere in his words, even if to the others the words would come out a jumbled mess.

The wolf beneath the tree smelled oddly, like antiseptic herbs and very faintly of blood, but he seemed happy enough to see Shay, his tail wagging and a greeting tripping from his muzzle. Shay copied his action, his gray-toned tail wagging slowly back and forth as well.

Another wolf approached as well, darker of coloring than Shay himself, and she spoke the same simple greeting Shay had chosen - it seemed he had chosen correctly after all, especially as the little wolf chimed in again, repeating the greeting twice over before another wolf joined them. This wolf questioned the little one thereby confirming Shay's suspicions that there was something unhealthy about him, then introduced himself to Shay and the female, asking if he could help them.

"No thank you, Shiloh of the Nomads, my health is not in need of assistance," he informed the wolf in his quick, nearly monotone manner, misunderstanding as he did that the wolf was not necessarily asking about his health when he'd asked that question. But to Shay it was logical - a healer asking if he needed help was obviously asking if he needed healing, which he did not.

As for the little wolf beneath the tree, his words were jumbled strangely, but Shay attributed it to a strange dialect, or simply some social norm he hadn't yet figured out, and thought little of it. "You are ill, then?" he asked him, betraying no concern, since he really felt none, but displaying his interest. He wouldn't have thought to ask if it didn't interest him, after all, and it was logical to know if the other wolf was sick in case it was contagious.

"My name is Shay Bearkiller," he added belatedly, realizing late that it might be polite to give his name, since the healer had given his.
