"Come Finiarel, it's time I show you something." He would gently nudge his youngest son, ending his gentle pushing with a swipe of his tongue. He had been meaning to spend time with his children individually, and he would start with Finiarel. Celeste and Caeto would understand, at least he hoped. A smile wrapped across his maw as he traipsed out of the den, with intent of showing his son one of the new lands the Kingdom had claimed. In a mere few weeks their territory had expanded tenfold, and it was time the children knew where their new boundaries were - though he hoped they wouldn't travel that far in their explorations. He would cast a knowing look to Epiphron, letting her know that this was a father and son trip, and that she need not tag along. It was nothing personal, just a boys day out. Emerald gaze sought out the spotted form of the child, hoping he would follow without much hesitation. "We're going to the Fern Gully, keep close so you don't get lost or misplaced." Losing Finiarel would not bode well for any future boys days out. The trees sprouted up in front of them almost immediately, for the clearing around their den was rather small. The terrain would not yet descend, but instead would stretch out before them, dotted with many trees and bushes. Maverick would weave though it all artfully, being careful to choose the easiest paths since he had a smaller soldier along with him. Granted, even the easiest of paths were not exactly simple. A few times the once-King would find his step faltering, and would gather himself before falling altogether - he hoped Finiarel would have the same fate. "We're ouside the Range now son, and we're entering the Fern Gulley. Be careful if you and your siblings run this way - you'll find the ground drops out from beneath your paws in a hurry." He wasn't kidding, for as he stepped forward he found himself descending a foot, and then another and another as he continued. He wouldn't stop until he stood five foot below the ground level of the range, in the heart of the gulley. "Don't be afraid, son - but do be careful."

"Speech!"
