And no rivers and no lakes can put the fire out

I'm gonna raise the stakes, I'm gonna smoke you out

Raisa Xanilov oversaw the forest around her with a dull, throbbing sort of distaste. It was not a beautiful grove, or a majestic redwood expanse. No, it grey, and dank, and cold. The dense thicket was nearly impenetrable for a wolf of her stature, and it had taken the better part of her day to work her way here. Where here was, of course... she wasn't entirely sure. It would suffice for now, of course. Raisa herself lat atop the gnarled root of a massive oak. It had curled up and out of the ground, arching some feet above the tangle and thorns. She took refuge there now, waiting for her scout to return. Koros, being smaller and quicker, was much more competent in this damnable place.

As if he thinking of him had summoned the small, silver and white fox, he appeared from the thing fog like a ghost. He came to a stop before her and bowed his head in a quick bob, waiting to be addressed. "Well?" she asked. Her voice was sharp and direct, her discontent leaking through. Koros winced, knowing the mood of his lady could be a terrible thing to witness. "Nothing but thicket, bramble, and tangle, your Grace. I'm afraid this goes on for quite some time." Raisa sighed, digging her pale claws into her moss covered perch. Wasn't that just perfect. And they had come too far yet to turn around. What a lovely mess they had wandered in to. "And I'm sure prey is as scarce as sunlight. Oh well. Another hungry night for us, I suppose." She sank down to lay fully upon the large root, flicking her tail for Koros to join her. He had earned a rest.

Esperanza was in the somewhat most darkest place she had imagined. Everything about it seemed like death had made his home here, but she knew better than to mock something like this.

Her ears perked up as she could hear the sounds of the she-wolf talking to someone. She wasn't sure who, or what she was talking to and waited in the trees beside them. Making sure she was downwind so they couldn't pick up her scent, she heard the female wolf with a deep black coat, speak to a white fox. "It seems that we will be hungry again," the voice of the fey spoke as she walked back into the deep forest that had camouflaged her pelt perfectly.

Within a couple hours time, she returned with a plump deer leg. She knew some of the deer's weak spots and had snagged a nice score. She approached the wolf and the fox cautiously, not sure if they were friends, or foes.
