Though she had been enjoying her newfound freedom, Satu could not quiet the nagging sense of guilt caused by the fancy-free life of a rogue. Was it not her duty to lend what skills she had to her family, to her pack? She balked at the idea of returning to her mother's pack, not when her sister and her cousins were here. Yet she had to do right by her family.
So it was that she found herself here at the edge of Ludicael's territory. Her normal exuberance was muted by a quiet uncertainty. Would she be welcome here? Novella was here, and no doubt her young cousin would be happy for her to join them. But there was also Song, who Satu had barely gotten to know growing up and who Satu couldn't predict a reaction for, and the many other members of the pack who Satu had never met before.
The young wolf steeled herself. If she was going to join, she had to just do it and get it over with. Satu lifted her muzzle to the sky, and called forth with a single musical tone, then sat down at the boundary to wait for an answer.
Though she held no power within the pack, Novella had been unable to help herself as she heard the call from the borders and quickly she went rushing to the source. Of course, the call wasn't just from anyone, she was certain it was Satu and seeing as she had been the one to encourage her to visit, there was no reason she shouldn't go greet her cousin at the borders. Sure enough, as she neared the edge of the pack lands she soon noticed the familiar brown coloured form of her cousin.
"Satu!" She greeted her happily as she approached, certainly pleased to see that she had indeed found her way to the Ludicael borders. And this joy was without even knowing her cousin's plans, Satu would certainly be right in assuming that Novella would gladly welcome her. "It's good to see you again." She commented, tail wagging happily behind her.
Even though it hadn't been all that long since their last meeting, Novella had more news to share with Satu. Upon noticing that something seemed a little off with her cousin though, she decided such things could wait for now. "Are you ok?" She questioned, her voice calming now with her concern for Satu, hoping nothing was wrong with her.
As Satu greeted her, Novella noticed that she seemed to grow a little more relaxed, and her usual joyous nature starting to return. A smile crossed her muzzle at her cousin's joke, it'd been plenty long enough really though there had been no time set upon the invitation, it was about time that she paid a visit to them. Such a comment may have fallen from her lips, though Satu had begun to speak once more, the words interrupted by the presence of another. It was no surprise that Song or Cherokee would turn up at some point, and Novella glanced towards the approaching wolf, smiling warmly upon seeing it was her sister.
Novella didn't think it was possible for anyone who knew their family not to recognise Satu. She herself had gotten comments on how much she looked like Novel, though even as a pup it was impossible to ignore the near identical appearance of Satu and Arelahn. Still often forgetting that Song hadn't really gotten much chance to bond with the members of their family whilst living in Ahlon, the young girl didn't think any introduction was needed, it was rather fortunate then that Song had arrived as she did.
Quietly she stood between the pair, allowing her cousin to speak for herself, her eyes growing wide with excited surprise as Satu explained she wished to join the pack. At that point she chose to speak up once more, now eager again to share some of the news that she had wanted to inform Satu of. "That's brilliant Satu!" She exclaimed cheerily. "But Song's the alpha now. You'll let her join won't you?" Gaze switched from her cousin to her sister, awaiting the answer that she was sure could only be a yes.
