Where was she? Hell if she knew how she?d gotten there. The past few days were an insomnia induced haze. All she could really recall was stumbling along for the longest time before finally giving up and letting gravity take her down. She must?ve finally fallen asleep after that?three days? worth of sleepless nights were bound to catch up to her eventually. Upon waking up her gaze had been flooded with an endless sea of swaying wheat. You?d think she?d remember finding such a place, but no. Nothing. Oh well. Best not to dwell on frivolous questions that would never be answered. Instead, Wyvern pressed onto the here and now.

Yellow eyes strained to see beyond the thick stalks surrounding her on all sides. Her short stature was truly proving to be her downfall in this scenario; she was too small to see above the grasses. With an irritable growl, the yearling chose a random direction and began moving at a brisk pace. Surely if she kept going straight she?d either find a way out, or some form of higher ground. Right? Right. Unless of course she was still dreaming and her subconscious had dropped her into an endless maze. Yeah, her mind was sadistic enough to do something like that. But there was something about the crisp feel in the air and the moist earth below her that let her know that this was all too real to be a dream. Besides, she was hungry. Her stomach wouldn?t lie to her, surely.

Time seemed to lose all meaning as she continued on her way, sleek muscles rippling under her thick winter coat. The constant rhythm of one step after the other lulled her into a sedated mood. Maybe this place wasn?t so bad after all. It was quiet, not to mention secluded. Though for all she knew there were several others in the area, simply too far away for her to see. Well, that thought put a damper on her ?tranquility?. Oh well, the grumbling of her gut was getting annoying. Food first, locating the nearest exit later.

With her priorities rearranged, Wyvern perked her ears and lowered her body into a smooth crouch. If this place hid her so well, then it would be ideal for prey as well. With that thought in mind, it didn?t take her long to locate a hare gorging itself in preparation for winter. How kind of it to plump itself up for her before its consumption. Not a sound was made as she sprang forth, teeth flashing and jaws snapping, dispatching her newfound meal before it could so much as scream. The act of eating her catch was a gruesome one, all warm blood and tearing flesh, but she found herself famished and therefore uncaring of proper educate. Besides, there was no one nearby to judge her for her table manners. Right?
