The glow of the land made the man look as though he was glowing blue himself. His black pelt always seemed to reflect a blue shade in any kind of night light like the feathers of a crow do during the day. He had never been here during the day but he loved to be here at night when everything, including himself, seemed to glow. Being Ebony's only healer, considering he didn't consider the heir to be a healer, he didn't get to leave very often but he would never go back in time and choose a different path.
His birth pack may have been known for their great knowledge in healing but that didn't mean everyone had to choose the path of their ancestors. Max would never move of the path his parents had set for him. His job had brought him good friends, new responsibilities, and more knowledge then he might have ever learned with the Nomads. The most important thing that leaving them and joining Ebony had brought him was his student, and best friend, Callisto. He had grown protective of her and he worried though he was afraid to let her know of any of his affections for her so he remained her friend and mentor.
Shaking all pack thoughts from his mind he would sit at the edge of one of the many streams and watch the water flow and sparkle in the nightly glow. Bending slightly he would disturb the water further by taking a small drink. When he finished he would silently watch the ripples move away from him. A sigh would escape him as his icy blue eyes would close and his muscles would relax.

She ambled across the lands with a happy little lop, her eyes shining with a sense of excitement, wonder. This was her first trip that she had taken outside the sawtooth territory, and so far she had seen nothing quite as beautiful as this. It glowed and shone with a brilliance she had never seen, dancing as if it were spun with magic. She danced through the lights, a happy laugh bubbling from her lips as she moved, and for the first real time she had no desire to ever go back home. Home to her emotionally inept family, home across the ocean and away from this place of magic and wonder. No, she was happy to stay right here. With a gentle sigh she slowed to a stop, closing her eyes gently and spinning around a couple times. "This has to be magic.." She whispered to herself as she danced. She paused the moment her eye caught the sight of another wolf, large yellow eyes blinking just so. Strangers....so far she had luck with meeting new people, but she had to be slightly cautious. The girl was small, and while she was flighty she was not so good at defending herself. No, her skills were in the stories she told, not in her physicality. With a deep breath she steeled herself and moved to take a few brave steps towards him. "H...hello?" She asked, wincing at her stutter. With another deep breath she smiled to the stranger, trying to appear much more brave and strong than she felt. "Burn Baby Burn" |

The man had relaxed so much that he had almost fallen asleep in his sitting position when a female voice rang through the air. In reaction he would jump and nearly fall into the water. Regaining his balance and his composer to find that he had, technically, fallen in the water. Giving a small bit of laughter at himself before looking at the smaller female who had stuttered a hello.
Silently, but quickly, he would take in everything about her that he could in the dark glow of the land. Bright yellow eyes, small frame roughly a foot tall, and covered in silvery shades out lined with dark grey fur. He would offer her a friendly smile and return her hello with a greeting of his own. "Good evening ma'am." he would grow silent once again as he waited to see if she was going to continue on with the conversation or if she would continue to stand there and look as though he was terrifying.

Her anxiety seemed to almost flood out of her at the sound of his voice, a gentle smile on her lips. She was almost embarrased by her fearfulness before she reminded herself that it had helped her survive thus far. Besides, Roewyn knew that she was not an alpha type, so submission was a common thing for her. With a gentle smile she dipped her head to the boy, swishing her tail behind her. "I do apologize," she said with a tilt of her head, stepping a few steps closer to him. "It is not very often that I meet strangers..." It was the truth, a sad truth. Before she had been swept away the girl had rarely left the packlands. Her hands had been full with the children and they were about all she talked too and interacted with. Her social skills were a tad rusty, even though all she wanted to do was be social. Her crown tilted back just so to look at the glowing around her, ears flicking ever so slightly. "Do you know why this place glows? It seems just like magic." Perhaps it was! Perhaps it was just like one of her stories, where the little princess had been swept away from everything she knew and planted unceremoniously into a world of magic and peril. With a soft laugh she shook her head to herself, shifting to settle on her haunches and curling her tail around her. "Burn Baby Burn" |

She had been fearful of him. Yet, when he spoke she instantly seemed releaved that he was kind. He wouldnt mention what he saw though. The dark man would simply sit there and listen as she apologized before moving closer to him.
"Its alright." his deep vocals would ring out in an acceptance of the girls apology but would pause a moment before continuing. "Not all strangers are kind, so your cautiousness in meeting strangers does not offend me.
Max had spoken the most honest words he could think of. It was true that there were many unkind wolves out there. It was also true that he was in no way offended by her cautious behavior toward him. Now he would watch as she took in the gbeauty of the land around them.
What cam next would be that of a question, one that he had no answer for and no knowledge on where to find the answer. Her following statement would have him smiling. "I have no accurate answer as to how or why it glows, only that it has to do with the moon. But I have to agree with you, it dose seem like magic."
