She could feel herself growing lazy with pregnancy. All the changes that were wracking her already shapely physique, particularly the added pounds of the fragile bodies within her own, not only bothered her but made her slower in her actions. Coupled with the fact she was taking extra special care of herself to ensure the well-being of her pups by the time they arrived - it honestly was a miracle she and Bane had conceived at all - Tahlia was not willing to risk placing them in unnecessary danger by overexerting herself.
Which meant she had been avoiding her duties a bit within the pack lands, lounging when she otherwise would have been hunting or fishing. Even she knew she could not keep it up forever, but considering she was pregnant she was willing to indulge in the liberties the condition brought with it.
Or at least she had been until today. Restlessness had driven her to wander around the pack lands and then beyond, taking to a place she had once visited with unpleasant results. She had been tormented here in the prairie once, a three-legged wolf with a penchant for insults. Her defender had been no better. She had ran the moment she could. But that had been months ago, surely both were well gone from the area. Sure enough, the flower dotted prairie appeared empty and beautiful within the chilly autumn midday, a few bright spots of colored flowers dazzling against the green of the grasses. Just a little it made her smile.
Ignorant of the creature who had come to claim this land as home, and of the fact this creature was one she wished to avoid at all costs, Tahlia traveled naively into the clutches of the beast for a second time.
