Though she had been tempted to rest before starting her next journey her desire to get to her nephew's pack and see how they all were won out in the end and so she would push onwards taking the long route around to avoid the rapids. She had seen how the falls had flooded and water levels were still higher than normal, and so it was probably best not to take her chances with the rapids.

At last she would finally come to a stop at the borders of Abaven lands, not knowing many within the pack as well as she would have liked, or even at all in some instances she would reach a stop at that point and let out a call for Bass. She certainly didn't want to make them think for even a moment she wanted any trouble. Now she would wait for he and perhaps any others of the pack to arrive.

Now this howl that called out for him he knew well. His head rose from the rabbit he had been snacking on, salmon tongue licking at the blood that tainted his jaws. How lucky was he to have two family diplomats call him to the edges of his land? And only in the span of a few days! Bass stood up slowly, stretching out his limbs and kicking some dirt over the rabbit. He would be back for that, but for now his Aunt was waiting for him. He picked up an easy trot, making his way from the middle of the plains to the outside. His tail wagged behind him as he saw the orange marked woman, letting out a happy bark. When he reached her Bass stretched his neck out to nuzzle her shoulder, placing a soft kiss there. "Hey Auntie Novella, what brings you to Abaven?" He asked. His tail stood still when he thought about it a little, his face drawing in concern. "Nothing bad has happened, has it?" He asked with a slightly shaky tone. After everything that happened with the storm, he was nervous that something major had happened to Threar and some of its members. Abaven had shared in the turmoil, losing their home for awhile as well as a member. Bass swallowed hard, waiting for her answer.

It wouldn't be too long of a wait before the pale boy would appear before her. Bass certainly seemed cheery enough, something that would put Novella a little at ease, he for one seemed ok and surely if there was something wrong with the pack it'd be troubling him a little more than this? There was only one way to find out for sure of course though for now she would meet his happy air with a friendly smile of her own as he drew closer, nuzzling him in return.

Now however that joy would fade slightly, his voice tinged with worry as he spoke once more. She would hastily shake her head in response, eager to put such fears at ease rather than leave him wondering. "Everything is alright." She would explain. "I was actually here to make sure everything was alright with Abaven. We got off quite lightly in the storm, the worst injury we had was a rather nasty bump to your cousin Sorrel's head but he's alright now." Yes Sorrel was back to his usual self and the only way you'd ever know about the injury was the owl that still insisted on following him around. You had to give credit to Ellingham's persistence, not once did he let the boy's grumpy ways dissuade him. Novella was glad, she wasn't sure what Symphony made of the owl, though she personally thought he would do Sorrel some good.

A large breath puffed out of his lungs when she shook her head, letting him know that they got off a lot easier than they had. "That's good to hear Aunty. Unfortunately... we did not get off quite so easily." He let out a soft sigh, head hanging somewhat. "Chrono fell into the rapids, they had risen so much with all the storms. We were just out on our way to evacuate, and he fell. I tried to save him, but I had been too late. One of the pups nearly slipped away but Motif saved his life. We had to hide in the Singing Caverns until the storms wore off, I even had to dig a ditch so that we would not get trapped inside the caves. Food had been hard to come by, but we made it." He paused, looking back up and shrugging his creamy shoulders. "When we came back home, Abaven looked like a hell hole. We are still working on cleaning it up, but I doubt that it will look like home again for quite some time." Bass let out another sigh, falling back on to his rump. "I wish I had some good news to tell you, but only more bad news. Harmony has seemed to have lost herself, she vanished from Abaven and I have not been able to track her down. Even Quintus doesn't know what is wrong with her, and he seems to be the closest one to her besides her family."

The boy shook his head, his shoulders heavily sagging. "The one thing that I could tell you in good is that I have taken a wife. Wren is the love of my life -- but she too has gone missing. A few days before she too vanished, her scent had been all... wrong. I think she is very sick, and I go out looking for her every day. Still no sign of her though, and I don't know how much longer I can take this. I am very thankful for my pack though, they support me even when I am feeling at my lowest." His eyes searched Novella, wondering, praying, that she had some advice for him. Bass felt so lost, it was a hard enough season to deal with without this whole mess of emotions. They needed to start preparing for winter, but there were other things that clouded his mind.

Sawtooth had been rather fortunate in the storm as well though sadly it seemed that Abaven had not had the same good luck that they had. Her expression and mood would dampen as her nephew spoke. Though she didn't know this Chrono that Bass spoke of she knew full well how a death affected a pack, that alone couldn't be an easy time for them. And then there was the mention of a name she did know. Harmony. The girl had paid visits to Ludicael, even tried to help find the cure during the epidemic but now she had vanished. That news was certainly alarming.

At the mention of Wren there would seem to be a cheerier moment. Though she had never known the girl well, Novella could recall that she too had once been part of Ludicael under her parent's rule though had apparently left to join Abaven upon befriending and it seemed falling in love with Bass. Before a word of congratulations could be given however once more he would present her with bad news, she too had gone missing.

"Some of your aunts and uncles have gone through stages where they needed time to themselves. They returned and better for it. Maybe Harmony simply needs the same." She would offer what advice she could. The disappearance surely pained him, she understood the worry he must have felt there, having gone through it herself. Unfortunately however she had no helpful words in regards to Wren. "I'll be sure to send word if I hear anything about either of them." All she could do was make a promise. "Remember that Threar are there for you as well Bass."

His aunts words were soft, and he nodded. His siblings did have a habit of being wanderers, heck he couldn't even get Chord to settle down with them. He smiled softly, standing up and stepped forward to wrap his neck around Novella's. "Thank you, your words really do mean a lot. Wren and I used to be seperated by pack lines, as you know. I know that we can get over this, and I have faith that she will return to me. But my heart longs for her, its so hard to be apart." He said softly, stepping back to allow some room between the two of them. Family meant everything to him, and he was glad that he had two packs that was lead by family so close to him. He was blessed in that factor, and wouldn't want it any other way. "I'll be sure to visit more, I owe both Sawtooth and Threar some more visits. I have been lacking in that aspect." He said with a soft chuckle, trying to lighten the mood. "With dealing with all of this, I just kinda shut off. It would have been a lot better for me if I just got off my butt and came for a visit. Besides, its not like its very far away."

Bass smile grew, glad that they were able to get over the more rough emotions. He had been meaning to come and talk to his grandparents, and to see all this family. "I was actually going to ask, if when Wren returns that we could host a ceremony of sorts? The one for you and Firth was beautiful, and I would love it if everyone was here for it."

Though she wasn't sure she had really said much that might help lift his spirits at all, something had apparently done the trick and he leaned in for a grateful embrace for a moment before thanking her. Novella's own lips would match his soft smile, glad that she had somehow aided, it certainly wasn't nice to see anyone in the family looking so down.

"I'm afraid I can only imagine." Novella responded softly, not pretending for a moment that she could understand the pain he currently felt not knowing where his mate was or if she was ok. Symphony perhaps was the best one to speak to there, currently in the same problem with her own mate. "Your aunt Symphony might be able to help you better to be honest. Her mate, Gitan, has been missing for a little while."

He would make promises to try visit more in the future and Novella sincerely hoped that he would manage that task. It was the question of a ceremony however that held her attention now and she would nod her head happily in agreement. "That sounds like a wonderful idea."

His heart went out to his family, he had no idea about Gitan. Maybe he could offer a large search party, to try and bring all the family back home. But he did not allow that to make his smile fade away, he was just glad that he had been able to talk to Novella. Even if she couldn't offer more advice, it had been enough to just get it off of his chest and talk to someone. His aunt was a great listener, that was for sure. "Thank you for coming here today Aunt Novella, it really does mean a lot to me." She liked his idea of a ceremony and his smile only grew. He would call it as soon as Wren returned and got settled in, if she liked the idea of course. "Was there anything else that you wanted to talk about Aunty? And would you like something to eat or somewhere to rest before you go home? Its the least I could do." He knew that it wasn't a very long trek, but that could still be tiring after days of attending to children and what not.

Novella was glad to help. Family meant the world to her and to see one so upset was something she hated to see. The only upside in this scenario was simply that at least the sadness wasn't caused by any sort of argument, she wasn't caught in the middle of a disagreement as she had been a few times with her siblings.

"You're welcome Bass." She replied, she came here as much for him as she did for herself though. Part of caring for her family meant she did like checking in on them. And it seemed that these little updates had been worthwhile. From the good news of meeting Hymn and Psalm in Sawtooth to the bad news that Bass had presented her with. It may not have been what she wanted to hear, but she was glad to know about it all the same.

"I'm alright thank you." She responded. She'd only come to see how Abaven had coped in the storm so there was little else she had to discuss. Lessons would hopefully start at some point though it seemed that Bass had enough on his plate right now to worry about without adding lessons to the list. "I should probably get back home, make sure the children aren't getting up to any trouble. You should come and visit them one day."

It seemed that all was well now between the two of them, and he was very glad that she had come here today. From good news to bad news, it was staying in touch none-the-less. She spoke of visiting her children one of these days and he eagerly nodded his head. "I hope they haven't buried your husband." He teased softly, pushing forward to nuzzle her cheek again. "I will be sure to visit though, Motif has been bugging me to pay everyone some visits. I think she gets bored being stuck in one place for too long, she always was an adventurer." It seemed like much of their family was, noted in how wide spread some of them where. It would seem that Bass had family in every corner of the world, and he liked that. He knew that no matter where he went, that there would always be family there for him. "Would you like me to walk you out? Its not that far, and I bet you would like some company." He offered. The boy had found that after being an alpha, being alone was something much different than it had been before. But then again, she probably liked the calm, peaceful silence after having to deal with little ones. He didn't have much experience, but he had enough to know all about it.

That reminded him about the training he had done with Darrah, and the meeting that he had had with his aunts. Perking up, he paused for a moment. "About that training, feel free to call it at any time. I could use something to keep my mind off of all of this, keeping busy seems to help a lot." It would be a large distraction, that was for sure. Plus, with everything that had happened he was behind in his own training, there wasn't nearly enough gatherings. He had set a pretty strict pattern when he made the pack, but it had all started to slip. He wanted to bring Abaven back onto his paws, and perhaps a large group training would be the best for him.
