Silent was surprised with where she ended up after travelling. She hadn't gone very far from the Seracian borders since her pups had been born, so there was an obvious reason why she was shocked. Glancing around at where she stood, the black female took in all the details she could manage. The sea's air stung her nose, making tears immediately form in her green eyes. After blinking them back, her gaze became clearer and she started to walk towards the sandy beach.
Her paws touched the grainy landscape without hesitancy in their steps. She became spellbound for a minute as she took in the waves and trees that came together across that streak of beach. Silent missed seeing different pieces of the world, but her pups and husband came first. As she thought of Bronze, she remembered his understanding face when she told him she wanted to venture out for a bit that morning.
With the afternoon setting in with the autumn weather, she was more relaxed than she had been the past summer. Silent took a few more steps towards a nearby cypress and reclined to her haunches. She understood why others would be out here. The problem with that thought was...there was no one else inhabiting the shore. Or was there?

Erebus

There was much to see and much to explore. Since his recent arrival to the lands, the lone black wolf had made contact with his former pack and things were finally looking to be on the brighter side - or at least as bright as it was going to get for a wolf like him. He didn't have many connections yet here and to some that made him dangerous, a wolf with nothing to loose, but then they wouldn't have understood him very well. Erebus wasn't the type to cause drama, but only known to finish it when it impeded him and his goals or those of his pack, but as of now that was irrelevant. He was finally at peace for the first time in two years.

He wasn't having to constantly look over his shoulder and scrape by, he finally had security and with that security came the liberty of leisure. So this is what it is to not have a care in the world... The wolf riddled to himself as he continued his exploration and familiarization of the lands. His large, long and sleek frame traveled effortlessly over what had now become a granular terrain, his senses picked up the salt in the air as he moved closer to the sound of the crashing waves. It had been an eon since he'd seen the sea and his heart was eager to see the beautiful sight. He elongated his stride to a lope, up over the hill from the west and the sight of the sea plains spilled out before him in unmasked beauty.

The sun was beginning it's set and the salt air whisked at his shadowed coat, the chill of autumn trying to penetrate his thick defenses to no avail. He drank it all in, his body and mind at ease...he couldn't resist the urge to come closer and so he moved stealthily down the slopping terrain until his body traveled parallel to the ground, crashing waves ahead. He stopped just short of the water, not bold enough in this moment to get wet. There was much more to explore anyways.

He turned and traveled parallel to the fragrant waters until a cypress grove caught his attention. He watched it closely, as though to determine why his senses were screaming. And then his acute eyes caught the sight of another darkly hued wolf. His interest was peaked, but his body was tense. He knew not who the wolf was and quite frankly wasn't even sure which packs were friend or foe to his own. Well standing here and staring isn't going to accomplish anything. Mind made up, he made his approach, to what he could now more clearly see as a female she-wolf...simply sitting. Odd place to be sitting alone... He pondered as he drew close, but then she had probably just seen his most undignified display. I guess that makes us even.

He approached with a commanding aura, but not one of disrespect. He just didn't trust her...or anyone really for that matter. He paused a respectful distance from her and cocked his crown curiously, dipping it in respect as he greeted her. "Hello." That was all. Best to keep things simple at first...

Her gaze had moved from the sand around her to the ocean that stretched past her line of vision. Silent took that time to admire the easygoing drifts of the waves. They came to the shore, only to be pulled back after trying to reach the sand that hadn't been touched by the water. Life was full of struggles, Silent mused, and she had been dealt her fair share. Losing her first son all those years ago, closely afterward losing Bronze, family drama that haunted her to the ends of the earth...All of it had been a lot for the young wolf to handle, but now, as she looked back on the regrets she had from those days, regret melted away into life lessons. She had learned from such actions, and with those lessons in her mind and heart, Silent was morphed into the wolf sitting on that beach.
It was because of these thoughts that kept her from seeing the black stranger at first. She became startled out of her memories and her frequent blinks were evidence of her surprise. Her ears flattened against her crown momentarily, tail shyly curling around her black paws as she recovered from being caught off guard. Silent's ears returned to being perked as the male, though standing at a respectable distance, voiced his greeting. Her dark maw broke out into a white-toothed smile and she replied with her own words. "Hello to you as well," she politely said, tones gentle and warm. "Pardon my surprise...I was simply reminiscing, as I am sure most older wolves tend to do."

Erebus

He noticed that he had suddenly startled the reclined female. "Hello to you as well. Pardon my surprise...I was simply reminiscing, as I am sure most older wolves tend to do." His thorns pricked, receptive and picking up on her nostalgic tendency. He had been equally surprised to see another wolf, but she had given him a wolfy smile, so she didn't seem to put out by his presence. He relaxed slightly at her warm welcome.

His mind processed her statement. Yes, it seemed that the older one got the more one's past either came to haunt you or embrace you. He had mixed feeling about the past, but it seemed this she wolf was walking on the brighter side of life. He was happy for her. He smiled a knowing smile. At six years of age, he wasn't new to the ways of life, so he understood this wolf's meaning.

"Reminiscing reminds us of where we've been and how we've grown. You seem to have had happy thoughts dancing through your mind, from the peaceful expression on your face." If he had been honest, he would tell her he was jealous of her rosy outlook. "I am Erebus, recently returned member of Valhalla. And you?" He sat down on his haunches as a sigh of good-will toward her. He meant her no harm, if she returned is favor in like.

Silent could tell that he would become more open if she showed the warm-hearted side of her. To be honest, that wasn't something she had a hard time doing. All her life, she had been the black femme with a golden heart...even if it did get her in trouble at times. She mentally shook the thoughts from her mind and continued to focus on the potential conversation that was about to unfold. Another time, she figured.
"I did, actually." With her gentle smile, she sighed and continued to explain. "I was remembering the trials I went through my young life, and even though they seemed crazy back then, they helped me become the wolf I am today." She lightly chuckled. "I wouldn't trade that for anything in this world." Her knowing green eyes fell upon the black male in front of her and his introductions were made.
Silent then nodded her head to his words and she said, "It is nice to meet you, Erebus of Valhalla. I am Silent of Seracia. I joined a couple of seasons ago to be with my longlost husband." A flush crossed Silent's cheeks, but no one could see it through her ebony fur. Instead, she shyly pulled her head to her chest, wrapping her tail around her paws. "I am sure I would bore you with the story if I just rambled into it. Do forgive me, please." Her smile crept back to her face as she looked at Erebus, wondering what he may say next.
