Spring is such a nice season. Flowers bloom and everything turns green. So lush and full of life. Birds sing above as the breeze whispers through the leaves of the trees. It was a new start, life life coming back from a fire. In the case of a earthen female it was how she felt inside. She no longer was alone, there was hope. Sometimes she felt so overwhelmed by it she swore she would take to the skies flying.
Sea green orbs danced as she pranced and skipped about chasing a butterfly. she was suppose to be hunting but she just couldn?t bring her focus on. One minute she was looking at wild flowers, admiring their beauty and ability to always come back after winter. She moved with a grace she was unaware of. Light footed as she was, she didn?t crash around the forest chasing one thing after another.
She might not be alone but she didn?t realize she had wondered away from Demoino. The white male was such an essential part of her life now, keeping her grounded. She couldn?t imagine what would have happened if she never met him. Possible gone insane from her paranoia.
Sunlight filtered down in the strong rays of the afternoon. The heat was rising but still cool. No the less the earthen female was growing thirsty. Pausing she looked about, noise in the air twitching. All she needed was to find the faint trail of moisture in the air. Ears twitched as she began to walk once more. It didn?t take long, or at least it didn?t seem to. The scent of water was strong and with confidence she strode forward till she stood at the edge of a small creek. The water was still cold coming down from the mountains. A few laps and she brought her head back up, water droplets clinging to her muzzle. Just as she turned a butterfly passed by to land on her nose. She dared to barely breath as she watched it slowly flap its dazzling wings. Its yellow and black wings a stark contrast to her eyes. So captured she would be oblivious to anything else around her.

Spring. The time of newleaf, when the snow melted away and made way for new life. Cubs, foals, fawns, calves, hatchlings, and new saplings and the budding of new flowers. He had been wandering the northern lands for some time. Not really knowing what to do, or where to go. A rogue without purpose. No home, no family. Just him. Snow crunched under his paws, a light layer of it on his pelt. He didn't know where he was going, but wherever it was the snow was thinning out. He stopped, looking at the small shoots of grass desperately trying to reach the sun. He stopped, jungle green gaze staring at the ground. Purpose...at least the young buds of grass had one. To grow as tall as it could, strong against the bitter cold of this area. What was he doing here? Not even he knew. He had come ashore, wet and soaked weeks ago. Not even knowing if there were packs around. He had met wolves, rogues like himself. But he never stayed long or followed them. What was the point?

Sighing, the mottled brown man walked again. He went miles, at least ten. Continuing his silent quest to the unknown. He was coming over a rise, the snow almost leaving his presence and making way to bright green scenery. Flowers were blooming here, the scent of fresh grasses and blooms itched his nostrils. It had been a while since he came across all of this. He scented the air, ears twitching as he caught wind of a nearby water source. Banking to his right, he came upon the water. Trailing down the hillside from the mountains behind him. He lowered his maw and began to drink, a change of taste from the snow he licked to keep hydrated. It was crisp, cold, tasted of minerals. Taking in the scenery, his ears perked when he heard laughter. Squinting, he saw a wolf near a small creek. Drinking from the one he was standing next to.

Who was it? And what was it doing? He was still a good distance, unable to catch its scent. Curious though, and subconsciously craving another soul to talk to, he slowly picked his way down the slope, brushing through the fields of growing flowers. Pollen and petals clung to his coat, eyes fixed on the creature ahead of him. Eventually, he caught its scent. A female. Ears flicked nervously, usually he wasn't the type to walk up and talk to someone, but something inside him screamed for some form of contact. He stopped a few yards behind her, not wanting to startle her he remained standing in the tulips, the ones grown as high as his chest, covering half his body. Should he speak out? Surely she'd scent him by now...he remained silent. Eyes cast somewhat on the ground.

How curious and beautiful life could be to create such a creature as a butterfly. How did things thing happen? Would she ever be as beautiful and graceful as a butterfly? She doubted it, she was a wolf after all. Just then the small creature took flight, taking her gaze with it. It hovered and twirled, making her turn to keep it in her sights. As she turned completely around something larger took hold of her sea green eyes. Standing among the tulips stood another wolf, male by scent of it. Her ears flicked nervously. Was he going to be like Demoino? Or opposite? Oh how she wished Demoino, her adoptive father was here now. She mentally snorted at herself. He would be if she hadn?t wondered off. Smooth move right?
She watched him carefully, noting his down cast eyes and uneasy posture. He certainly was handsome. Since when did she think males were handsome, and attractive, and ..wow. Okay she had to cut it out. She didn?t want him to think she was a creeper. But, man, he was though! She shook her head trying to scatter those thoughts away. Something about him made her relate to him. Maybe because she was socially awkward. Slowly she took a few steps forwards, tail waving softly, ears slightly back. Oh by the heavens she didn?t know what to say! What do wolves normally say in these situation?
"Uh...Hi" She said softly. Really? That?s all she could come up with? Well it was better than silence right? She shifted her weight on her paws, hoping he wouldn?t freak or attack her. But she didn?t think either would happen. All she knew was that she was drawn to him.

The mans head snapped up as the girl addressed him...sort of. Ears flicked nervously atop the brutes head. Why was she staring at him like that? His brow raised slightly as she approached him, but he didn't move. She wasn't seemingly hostile, and he had no intention of attacking either. The Knight remained where he was, ears slightly perked with interest as his nose twitched to get her scent. She seemed hesitant to approach him. Perhaps now would be a good time to tell her that wouldn't harm her at all.

"You don't have to be afraid of me, I have no intention of hurting you. Don't worry. Er...My name is Knight. Knight Cloud...most just call me Knight." He said with a dip of his head. She seemed to be younger then he, from what he could tell by in size. Just not sure how old...pretty young though it seemed. Jungle green gaze fell on her again, ears flicking away some pollen that had gathered. Clearing his throat, he added "What's your name?"

This male made her feel safe. Not like Demoino did in his fathering like ways. This was different. Was it possible one could instinctively know when another was not to be trusted? Hearing him speak, confirming he wouldn?t harm her made her eye fix on him completely. She looked right at him, at his eyes as if trying to see into him. Those eyes, so soft and welcoming, offering her loyalty to those who proved worthy, questioning him if he was. Knight Cloud, how interesting. she like it, it seemed to fit him in some way. "I'm Elysia Kyra. Its nice to meet you Knight." She paused for a moment wondering what else to say."Are..are you in a pack or a loner?" Might as well start a conversation right?
One thing Elysia always failed in notice was the scent of others and knowing if they were pack wolves. But then again Elysia had never met a pack wolf and only loners. She would realize it if a pack wolf did come up to her. There was so much the two year old female lacked in knowledge She knew this too and blamed her mother for it. She wasn?t angry about it though, but it would be helpful to know these things.
Standing among the tulips as well she bent to sniff at then flowers. How wonderful life could be to give everything a scent, color, and unique quality to it. It amazed her the things in life she had yet to encounter. drawing her head back, she didn?t realize pollen coating her nose as she looked back at Knight. Ears perked up at full attention towards him.
She still pondered on why she was so attracted to him. It wasn?t like the way she was with Demoino or her brothers. This was different, like a pull from her heart and body. Maybe it was because she just hadn?t meet other wolves as much. But he was handsome, strong looking and seemed to be kind. Maybe she just wanted to know another wolf she could know that wouldn?t be family to her as Demoino was. So she could experience what it was like to know someone and be friends. She would have to talk to her adopted father about this. Maybe he would know.

Elysia? Not a bad name I suppose. Why does she keep looking at me like that? Is there something on my face? Or is it the scar...? He turned his head slightly to the side, lowering his neck to brush his muzzle against his foreleg before raising himself to look at her again. Ears swiveled around to catch her words. She must not have been able to tell the difference between pack wolves and loners yet...does she not belong to a pack? The Knights nose twitched a little, taking in her scent. No, she didn't smell of pack. No wonder she couldn't tell the difference...Clearing his throat, he turned his deep green gaze to her, he opened his mouth to speak.

"I...I do not claim a pack. I'm a loner, seeking a pack. But I don't know which one I want to go to as of yet...I've been to a couple, Amenti was not to my liking, and Tortuga wasn't either. But...I heard recently, that a different pack has claimed Tortuga. And that the Northern pack had some trouble, not sure what though. I may check it out, I hear Glaciems are one of the fairest of all. And I sure wouldn't mind meeting Gargoyle, he's well known in Alacritis." He replied. He had learned of such events from passing rogues or loners, as well as a random pack wolf on the way.

Craning his neck towards her, he took a few steps forward to stand a foot away. Ears surged forward in interest. "You don't have a pack huh? I can't smell anything on you." He commented briefly. He stood taller then her, then again it was probably normal even though he wasn't too tall himself. He was medium sized, but barely standing on the borderline between medium and large. There were still others that stood taller then he, but he could easily out maneuver them if need be. Gazing at her, he still wondered why she stared at him the way she did. Was his scar? His unruly hair? Always sticking out in different directions, never staying neat when he tried. It seemed to always have a mind of its own, never staying groomed, even when he plastered it with water. The man suddenly felt shy about his appearance, hopefully she didn't think he was a dirty mangy cur. He was far from it.

This male had so much information to offer, it bewildered her. But her thirst to know over rode the confusion in all the names. She wondered what it might be like to live in a pack. But then again she wasn?t fond of large groups. She sat down on her haunches, fully attentive to Knight. " No..I have only lived with my family till this past mid winter. I lost them in a storm. Until recently i was alone but Demonio adopted me as his daughter." She explained, eyes cast down to the ground. Her heart still ached from missing them, and she wouldn?t give up her search to fin them either.
It was a moment before she looked back up at him. "You know a lot about packs...what?s it like to live in one?" She asked her head tilting to the side. It was then she noticed him seeming to withdraw in on himself. An ear flicked back as she looked around before blurting out her thought. "I like how you look.." Sea green eyes widened in surprise at her own words. Head ducked down embarrassed as she hunched over, not daring to meet his gaze now. Her stomach was all fluttery like, dipping and squeezing. Why did he make her feel this way? Her heart hammered in her chest. Would he walk away now? She was just starting to get to know him. Closing her eyes she could picture him in her mind. He seemed to have been able to lodge himself in her mind and body within just a few short minutes of their meeting. How she wished Demoino or even her mother was around to explain. But at the same time, she didn?t want anyone to know how she was feeling towards this male. What if it was wrong?

Knight listened attentively to the young girl in front of him. Eyes searching her over, ears catching every word the young one said. A smile pulled up the corner of his lips, but just a small one. The pollen he barely noticed just now, covering her nose. He listened to her eager questions, so she had lost her family? And was found by a stranger who took her in? That was strange...at least, he thought so. He remembered his father, He had died when Knight turned 2, ravaged by a sickness that had been deteriorating him from within. A cancer that was incurable. Knight's eyes blinked shut for a second, shaking away the memory. Returning his attention to the girl, he opened his mouth to answer the questions she shot at him, wanting to know what it was like to be in a pack. He wasn't sure how he would answer...then again, there was his fathers pack. They were a close knit family, and had wanted Knight to stay. But he couldn't stay somewhere where his memories of his closest friend to haunt him. His Father meant a lot, and he just couldn't stay after his passing.

As soon as he was about to speak, he stood with mouth open when the words "I like how you look.." reached his ears. He stood shocked, did she know he felt uncomfortable about his appearance? He blinked a few times in rapid succession, mouth suddenly lost for words. When he recovered from his brief shutdown of words, and finally responded. "Erm...Well, it's nice I suppose. When you find a good one...I've seen some nasty packs, ones that will turn on their own or treat their own as slaves. But my old pack...wanted me to stay with them. But I couldn't...So I left, never to return. Maybe one day though...if I don't find anything for me here, then I may leave across the oceans once more, and see if they will still take me back. There's a certain...belonging feeling, being able to sleep with others in a den, hunting together, working together, taking care of each other. In a sense, it's something you don't find as a loner or a rogue. In a way...I kinda miss it."

He glanced down, thinking about how the pair were similar. They both lost family...his, Father had died. He didn't know anything about his Mother, and his siblings had remained behind. Or...at least as far as he knew, they were his real siblings. Little did he know that the one who found him was NOT his real father, that his real mother had died along with the rest of his litter. He was too young at the time, still blind and deaf when his "Father" had found him, and nobody had told him that he wasn't his real child. But they treated him as if he were one of their own. He sighed, the memories of leaving behind his family to come here...he left because it was too painful to stay. To lose the one that raised him and was always there for him, it hurt.
