The mist that seemed to eternally cling to one of the pale fea's frequent haunts swirled around her legs as she stalked almost silently around the trees. Her paws tread over the patches of moss that covered the ground. She had been here often enough to know where to go to avoid the thick vegetation that might trap a more unsuspecting wolf. This fea was not one of those wolves. She was always incredibly aware of her surroundings with her violet-hued eyes pulling information from her surroundings as fast as she could get it. She had always been this way, it was in her nature to be inquisitive about the world around her.

As the wolf came up to a particularly thick, thorny patch of growth she slowed her steps, carefully picking her way around it before she continued her journey at her usual slow, graceful trot. She didn't keep up this pace for long though. She caught a glint of movement out of the corner of her eye. She slowed to a stop, turning her gaze in that direction, searching the mist for any sign of the source of this movement. Not seeing any she rolled her shoulders in a shrug and continued on her way. She knew this forest was notorious for having creatures lurking around so she wasn't too alarmed. Not that she would have been anyway. It took a lot to get under this assassin's skin.

"Speech."

Excitement tumbled through the hellion?s inky veins as he drank in the scenery, submerged himself in it. It was wonderful! Eerie fog hung about everything, casting dim veils over the lower portions of trees and undergrowth. The area itself was shrouded in a calm, spooky atmosphere. The air was humid and an eternal shadow seemed to hang about, even in the midst of pure day. The birds did not sing, save for the occasional shrill cry of some unidentified avian. He liked it. The escape from the light, the calm just waiting to be disrupted, everything. The ground was soft, and muffled his steps as he bounded along, eager to expend the unusual and unexpected amount of energy that was always built up in his tiny body.

Around some underbrush, over a log, through some underbrush. A messy grin was plastered to his face, his tongue rolling free and a thin coat of saliva draped along his black lips. It wasn?t long before he noticed that he was not the only one in the forest. His grin faded somewhat to be dominated by frigid interest, and he paused a safe distance away, crouched in the shrubs. Someone else. His tongue wiped along his lips, and then he sprung silently forward to the next obstacle that he might hide behind, and keep somewhat near the woman. She stopped momentarily, looking back, and Caesar crouched even lower, crunching his small body in behind the bush and holding his breath. When she continued on, relief coursed through him, though he wasn?t necessarily too bent on behind hidden. Such a thing would only be temporary until? In a flash he sprung from behind the concealments with a splitting shriek, hoping to give her a scare.

The utter silence of the forest was deafening. The fea didn't know of anywhere else that was so naturally quiet. It was natural for a forest to have sounds of life around, the scittering of animals, crawling of bugs, and the like. Here it seemed like none of that existed. With the exception of the occasional screech of a bird overhead, it was as quiet as the dead. The fea was perfectly fine with this however. The more quiet it was the more she could hear. It sounded backwards even in her own mind, but it was true. The more silence there was, the more subtle, quiet noises she could catch. For example, her ear twitched as she caught the sound of some movement a little ways back from her. It was barely audible, but it was enough for the wolf that had trained herself to be aware of all of the sounds and movements around her. She wasn't sure what creature had made the sound, but she could tell it was moving somewhere near her.

She had been expecting some kind of contact or attack of some sort when she had noticed the movement around her, but what actually came at her completely threw her off her guard. Out of nowhere, what only could be described as a screech pierced the air and threw her off balance. Her ears flattened back against her skull in an attempt to deaden the awful noise as she stumbled to the side. Scrambling, she regained her balance and whipped her head in the direction that the jolting screech came from and what she saw was almost as jolting as the scream itself. The scrawny wolf in front of her was like nothing she had ever encountered. Her eyes were wide with shock at both his entrance and his appearance. It took a lot to throw the white fea off her game, but this wolf had succeeded in doing just that. "What on earth was that for?" she questioned in her deceivingly sweet timbre as her heart slowly calmed back down from the scare he had given her. She felt like something wasn't right about this scrap of a wolf, but then again, she wasn't really quite right herself.

"Speech."

He landed from his leap, the warped grin stretched across his lips. Greedy eyes drank in her reaction voraciously, his spine tingling with joy. He let out a giggle, throwing his head back before it swung down between his forelegs, and the giggle escalated to a harsher cackle. The sound died the instant the she wolf gathered herself to question him. He perked again, his right ear standing erect while the shredded left strained to match. His muzzle lifted, pointed towards the woman, still adorned with the devilish yet somehow innocent smile. ?Fun!? he squeaked plainly, his tail swaying slightly with pleasure.

A few skittering hops took him to the left in the slightest of arcs, aiming to edge a little nearer to the woman. Wide blue eyes traced her form, assessing with a ghostly and unreadable stare. She was larger than he, with pale fur and bright purple eyes. Like amethyst gems. He?d always wanted a pair of pretty eyes to keep for himself. He wondered if they rotted away like flesh did, or stayed like bone. The gremlin?s tongue swiped along his lips, seeming a nervous habit though he was anything but nervous. ?What?s she doing here? Is she alone?? he asked, his tone choppy and curious. A second after questioning, he thought over his second question and burst out laughing again. Of course she wasn?t alone! He was here now!

Alena could only watch as the strange wolf before her hopped around and licked his chops. He was possibly the most peculiar creature she had ever seen. Not only was he one of the smallest, scrawniest wolves she had ever seen, but he appeared to be absolutely insane. Alena mentally dissected his behavior like she did anything else she came across, but was unable to figure out what was wrong with this brute. He seemed to laugh at nothing and found terrifying others fun. Her ear gave a twitch and a slight smile touched her lips. She thought scaring people like he had her actually seemed pretty amusing, but she pushed the thought aside. That was beside the point.

At his oddly worded question she raised a brow curiously at him. Did he speak like that on purpose? Did he expect her to use the same tense he had? She wasn't sure how to approach interacting with this wolf. He was so unlike anything she had ever encountered. "I'm passing through, enjoying the scenery," she answered simply, not quite willing to play his games just yet. "What are you doing here? What is your name?" she asked in return, growing more and more curious of him by the minute.

"Speech."
