And thus the pack had been torn bough from bough, their Alpha lying helplessly at the thrashing jaws of an unsuspecting superior; sprawled in a faultless lake of crimson, heart barely beating beneath the ragged cage of his ribs. Oh how the youth had clutched his life so effortlessly within hungry palms, her shuddering and shaking being revering with the with the want to finish him, to draw their vicious battle to a triumphant end. To feel through the pores of her toes as his jugular gargled powerlessly beneath her touch and as all traces of life depleted from his lemon-gaze; but alas, the lady had surprised even herself. Something, and god only knows what force of supernatural it had been, but something had ceased her; destroyed her body?s cravings to devour him, and replaced them with the need to leave his wounded body be. He was a grand fiend, but he hadn?t been quite grand enough. Where he lay now was submitted to the palms of unknown, perhaps he was healing safely away from view, or perhaps he had failed to survive. The russet queen would leave it only to time to tell.

It had been barely long enough for her wounds to scab, no more than a meager three days of physical recovery in solitude before the multi-toned banshee would begin the creep towards her new kingdom; a cautious pride simmering ever-so-visibly beneath war torn skin. Spine curled, guiding the agile ghoul between a sparse array of pines; the area was far more favourable than where the pack had recently resided, and quite frankly, the novel sovereign couldn?t care less who decided to follow her and who would stray away. She would summon them regardless, as socially raw as the initial assembly may be. Haunches found a haven of respite beneath the twisting arms of a lone pine, oblivious to the sting of snow-kissed earth, thick tail coiling elegantly about the striking vixen?s haunches as she would ready her psyche for companionship. It was there an imaginary crown would tip backwards, lustrous in a feeble royalty as a shrill drawl would crawl free of ebony lips; a single, prolonged invitation for new and past members a like to rejoin her, or to announce their leave.

WHEN THE IRON IN YOUR SOUL
~*~

They'd all heard the challengers call. They all knew Gargoyle went to fight, and by now it had sunk in that somehow the titan had lost. A few of the pack members had gone to help with his healing and had spoken with him. At least he was alive. Crusade had had to resist the temptation to ask where he was; if she knew she would go to him, her baby brother. But no. Her place was where she was needed, picking up the pieces and holding things together.

She was helping to watch over the pups, not just her own, but Gargoyle's too. She'd seen the ways of many a tyrant. Often they would use the weak of the pack against the rest. And heaven knew they'd already been through enough. Cross and Kairos in particular - they'd just seen their pupsitter's eyes ripped out and throat mauled by the now dead rogue Sixx.

Her poor, sweet little Cross hadn't spoken since. But at least Ithurial was healing. She knew that Gargoyle had taken a liking to the little girl he'd brought into the shelter of Glaciem. Just one of the many lives that Gargoyle had helped since Crusade had handed over the reins to him.

Of course Crusade was ticked. But frankly, she was withholding full judgement until she got to meet this challenger. Not that there was any hope of a peaceful meeting. Whoever this girl was who thought she'd won Glaciem. She'd won the name, certainly, but that was about it. She was yet to win over any of the packmates and Crusade wasn't putting good odds on such a thing.

"Now, you stay back a bit, pups," she murmured to the little ones in her train as she entered the chosen clearing. Sparse Pines wasn't a far cry from the borders of true Glaciem, in fact it had been the place where they'd camped out before the territory was decided on. Crusade's interest centered immediately on the rust colored fae waiting neath the boughs of the conifers. This young thing had beaten her brother? Surely it must've been due to complications, or some twisting of her brother's conscious... Then again, from the way this creature held herself, Crusade's keen old eye could pick up the signs of a talented mover.

"Congratulations," The once-queen's voice rang out dryly. "You've managed to tick off over two dozen wolves in the matter one day." She stepped forward through the snow on cream colored paws, until the distance between them was a matter of yards. There wasn't really any true malice in her tones, more just... cold disbelief. "Then again," she added, "You didn't kill my brother, which is probably more than he would've done for you." With that Crusade sat down. If her steps forward had seemed at all of a threatening nature, they ended there. She wasn't about to thank the upstart, but she wasn't going to order her execution either.

"So tell me," she said in her half crooning old voice. "What are your 'plans' from here on out?" Crusade had had plenty of experience as a diplomat to leaders of packs, clans, mobs, rogue bands, - you name it. And though this one cut a little close to home, she could still retain her calm. She leaned back her head and twisted up a hind leg to scratch her ear. She had time. She wanted to see what the usurper had to say.

Cross meandered along in the wake of his mother. The same day that Uncle Gargie had had to leave to fight for his throne, one of the rogue pyschos had gotten past the borders, and Cross had ended up fighting for his life. Well now, it couldn't really be called fighting. He'd been weak. He'd been helpless.

But he refused to be next time.

Since then, he hadn't spoken a word, but, if anything, he'd seen more. His pupish naivete was beginning to fade. He actually listened to the adults and made sense of their words. Which meant that when he learned of the challenge and that his Uncle had lost - he knew full well that their world was about to change. But he also knew now that wolves could die. Quickly. Painfully. And that Glaciem wolves, like Awaken who'd come to his rescue, could slaughter without a moment's hesitation. It was a terrible revelation for one so young. But the fact was, it didn't frighten him.

...perhaps that was what made it so terrible.

"Now, you stay back a bit, pups." he heard his mother say as they came within sight of the wolf that could only be the challenger. Cross plucked his haunches down without a word. His cold emerald eyes were fixed ahead, watching the stranger and listening to his mother.

Orica had staid with Aunt Crusade. Since she'd heard about the attack from Sixx, and seen the damage done her poor sweet Ithy, she didn't trust herself to go walking off alone. She wanted to stay with the big adults. The ones who could protect her. And yet... in her heart of hearts she wished she could've been there. To hamper the bad guy and, most importantly to help Ithy.

What good was a medic if they couldn't get to where the bad stuff was happening?

And now came a new problem. Her father had been... challenged? And he'd lost? What was going on? Aunty Crusade had talked to them about it, and explained that their father was fine and that everyone was gonna stick together. But something was definitely wrong. Her little white paws scrambled in the snow. The only thing that kept her from getting panicy was seeing how calm Cross was. He was one of her cousins who was always fight to start a fight or lead a charge or play games or fight villains. He didn't seem to be worried about anything. When she was told to stay put, Orica sat down beside and a little behind him with her fluffy tail curled over her paws.

She didn't much care about anything that was going on, she wanted it to be over. She wanted the problems to be fixed and she wanted to see her Mommy and Daddy.

Awaken was walking to see this new 'Alpha' and give her a piece or her mind. Crusade was already speaking to her. He growled at the sight of her. How he'd love to sink his poison coated claws into her fles and watch her writhe for weeks. Awaken's growl turned to an out right snarl.

"So your the new girl who somehow managed to beat Gargoyle. You may have beaten him, but to me I still follow Gargoyle. He reeked of hand made toxins. He was coated in nightshade extract. It covered his back, neck, belly and sides and if injested would cause seasures. "And you know what? Screw you if you think you can keep me here! Or any of us for that matter. Those who want to stay with Gargoyle can come with me im out of here. He turned angrily, his paws hitting the snow hard and tearing through it as if it were nothing.

OOC: just a warning for some mild language, though I suspect its going to be the norm in this post.

Hearing the sound of the challenges call made midnights heart sink this was it the proof the mater the call that could only come from an alpha came from this stranger. She moved without joy following the sound to where the pack was assembling her tail hung low but a fire burned in her eyes. She did not know what to do, she had thought she had no loyalty to the pack that her life was tied to gargoyles alone but now... she did not speak as she entered the clearing and did not meet the challengers... the alphas eyes. It was strange entering a meeting and not seeing the massive frame of gargoyle but she did not pause as she crossed the open ground and went to sit just in front of the pups she could see cross sitting amongst them, the pup who would have been king, it would not be so now, she shielded them with her own body if a fight broke out and she suspected it may she would be damned if she would let the pups be hurt, after all they where not just a pack they where a family, and this upstart had broken the family. She would let her body break before she would let tooth or claw mark the pups, after all they where innocent parties in this.

She nodded to the white brown lasses words, she had not spoken to the dame but it seemed they thought very much the same, this wolf spoke sense and she marked her down in her mind as an a possible future ally. It was true that the dame who stood before them pride in her eyes and scars on her back had made herself no allies in this fight and she smiled a slightly evil smile at the thought of what would have happened had roles reversed, she had seen gargoyle fight a bear, she knew he was capable of killing. Midnight knew her position in this pack would be decided by what the usurper said next either she would stay with the pack protect the weak and simply work around the bitch or if she would start a rebellion, she was not a strong fighter but if she needed to stand up she would.

She shifted as Awaken entered even from where she sat poised she could smell the poison on his coat and feared that this may be the spark. His words where passionate and for a moment she felt the pull to follow, watching him leave with a sense of sorrow in her heart, perhaps she would follow him in the end rejoin her chief once things had settled down, for now she sat watching him fade into the forest growth.

She wasn't sure exactly what was going on, but she'd heard some rumors circling around her home. The chief, Gargoyle as she finally learned was his name, had been challenged by some strange woman and he had lost. The giant man whom Glaciem was proud to call their chief was no longer at the top of the pack. Now the challenger, whoever it was, was in charge. The young russet girl had never met the Chief, only his pretty wife miss Oceana, but despite that she felt a subliminal attachment to the chief. He was after all the one who had been keeping her mother and brother safe and sound. How could she not pledge her loyalty to him? As she lied pondering about the recent events, a stranger's howl erupted into the quiet atmosphere, summoning forth those who called Glaciem. By the tone she deduced the caller to be female, but the voice didn't belong to miss Oceana and it certainly wasn't chief Gargoyle's. Could this be the challenger that had beat her chief?

Curious, the russet youth stirred from her resting place, russet and onyx limbs propelling the young dame towards the source of the call. It seemed other wolves had gather before her, those who were probably loyal followers of her chief. An uneasy glance was given to the russet woman at the head of the meeting, sapphire gems narrowing as she spotted two youngsters like herself sitting behind two older woman. Unsure of what exactly was going on, but not liking it one bit, Seraphiel moved towards the two youngsters, sitting herself not to far from the boy, onyx plume flicking uneasily behind her, audits pricked forward with attention, listening as the elder wolves spoke, questioning the russet dame's plan for the pack. Where were her mother and brother? Had they heard the strange woman's call?

The youngster did not entirely understand what had happened to his pack. He understood that many of the adults was upset, and he was therefore upset as well, because he could do nothing to comfort them. He could only bury his face in his mother's fur and wish desperately that he could do something, anything. Why was he so useless? He could do nothing to help. Just like he couldn't help his mother. It had taken Tiberious a long time to process exactly what had happened to brnig him into this world. It had taken some poking, some investigating, and an understand that his family was different. Unlike Galileo and his siblings and Cross and his siblings, he had no father. His father had hurt his mother, and that was why he had been born.

He had brought pain with his birth and now he could do nothing to lessen the pain of those around him. The guilt was a vicious thing, tearing at Tiberious' insides. Useless, His mind hissed at him, and Tiberious whined softly, making a soft noise inside his chest. The only distraction came in the form of a howl that summoned the pack to the center of its new lands. Tiberious rose shakily to his paws, shaking himself vigorously as he set off.

By the time he arrived, several other wolves had made their appearances, but his mother and siblings had not. That left him with precious few wolves to sit with. He was confident in his abilities to make a new friend, but right then was not the time. So Tiberious padded solemnly up to the other pups and settled down a little ways away from them, curious cobalt eyes focused on the female who had called them there. This was the challenger, right? She had won Glaciem from his 'uncle.' It didn't make sense to him. Who would want to do that? It would definitely upset other wolves, and Tiberious could never. But other wolves didn't think like he did, he understood. Even his siblings seemed to think very differently from himself, though they, like many wolves, were easy enough to read. He found it easy to tell how most were feeling, but that was more due to practice than anything else. For example, it was easy for the youngster to tell that many adults were angry. But hey, maybe that was just because some of them were yelling.

But as for leaving? Tiberious wasn't sure about that. He would wait for his mother before doing anything.

Galileo was all for not showing up. He had no interest in meeting the wolf who had hurt his father. The anger that had uncurled in his chest once he had heard what happened made him seriously debate even showing up. But without his mother and father, with only Crusade to watch over him, Galileo had also been reluctant to stay by himself. Still, his claws dug a little bit too deeply into the earth as he stalked along, padding behind his aunt and siblings. Each of them seemed to have reacted a little differently but Galileo didn't particularly care. His sisters he was worried about, but other than that, no, he couldn't bring himself to care. He just wanted to make sure that no one hurt his father like that again.

The male was reluctant to sit with the other pups, but sit with him he did, settling back on his haunches carefully next to his sister. Galileo cast a glance in her direction, trying to make sure that she was all right. Orica didn't seem to be about to fall apart or anything, so his gaze roved along to Cross and to Tiberious. None of them seemed injured, but none of them seemed particularly happy. Some day he would be strong enough to make sure that this never happened again.

A snarl built in hi chest, and it took several moments for Galileo to force it back down as he fixed his gaze on the challenger who had hurt his family so. He would find weakness and he would exploit it. He would get his revenge. It was his father who had been hurt, after all. And if it took him years, he would get his revenge.

"speech!"

The brute trailed behind his lover and the horde of pups that followed her. She was upset and she had every right to be. It was her brother who had been overthrown. He himself was upset, but for his own selfish reasons. He'd been with Glaciem since it's very foundation. The pack had passed from the family Crusade had been born into. It had gone from her, to Raven, to Rogue, to Crusade again, and then to Gargoyle. The pack hadn't known any other leaders except Glaciem's founders. This wasn't going to go over well, and it wasn't. He was furious. Furious that there was a possibility that this chick thought she could just take what she wanted and totally dismantle [i]their[i] family. He wouldn't allow it. Not easily at least.

He stalked with careful steps working to contain his anger. He paused for a moment, letting the others approach the russet fae larger than even he was. It seemed as though Awaken and Crusade were the only ones to say things. their statements were surely justified. They would still be united under Gargoyle if anything, though for now he'd listen to what the girl had to say. He was getting too old to be jumping into fights. Regardless, she was ruining the family he'd struggled for eight years to have. He wasn't going to let this pass without some words.

"I think we'd all like to know your plans. I've been here since the packs beginning, long before the exodus, back longer before that. Four years I've been here. Seen many changes. I'll be damned if a girl who's barely reached adulthood ruins anything that's been established."

His voice was steady and liquid green pools looked at her with a passion in his eyes. A fire for his pack. Other than that the stoic look had returned. She was a stranger, and other than the words he spoke he would remain level headed and wouldn't push her to the point of a fight. Not in the very beginning. Not until she had explained herself.

The boy was home for once. He wasn't completely aware of what was going on. He kept getting distracted by other things. He really wanted to know how Uncle Gargie was. He wasn't here though. Not from what his teal orbs could detect. He looked up at his mother as she told them to stay back. Eyes then traveled to the new girl curiously. She looked funny and was huge, but not as big as some other wolves he'd seen. She was silent too as others said stuff for the time being. He looked up at his father and his tail wagged. His father would fix things! Right? A soft puppy growl left his jowls directed towards Eos. He had to bite his tongue not to say anything though. He didn't want to get into too much trouble. Not at this point. He wished he could say stuff too though!

Shake the foundation! Shake it good! Watch their walls crumble! Was there anything wrong with introducing a little anarchy, no not at all, it was a delightful change of pace that syrinx was pleased with. Granted, Eos could have more cleverly taken over a pack that was closely aligned with Valhalla, but fact of the matter was the alliance would not waver and Syrinx would not be made a fool of. His gaze wandered to the queen, reine, usurper and then his eyes flickered among each of the wolves he came behind, his slick musculature climbing between each of them, daring them to look, daring them to witness what was unfolding. they would be happy in their new life, so long as they pulled his own. Silence would be demanded of them, it would be cultured and nurtured, a smile sprang over his obsidian lips and then he fell beside her- beside Eos. Words would spring to life, those of the crowd, those angry little fools, and as soon as the whelp -Awaken- spoke Syrinx would snarl, letting his command rip from his lungs, "You will obey your sovereign, she won her title fair and square," such is all he needs to say and then he digresses allowing the looming moments to take over, to come with power. It is unspoken but he claims the place of her secondary alpha, of her lover.

"we are not here to tear apart your home, merely to strengthen it, if you wish to leave take your leave now, and there will be no repercussions, if you do not leave, swear fealty to us," Two siblings dampened and darkened by the things that would come. he would offer what he could to them, he would offer them a morsel of hope, and his head would turn towards Eos, "Allow me the...politics,"The voice would not be loud enough for any other to hear an his voice would immediately ring out, "Gargoyle and his family are more than welcome to stay, we'll even grant him a rank," the rank it was would be a decision for Eos to make, though fact was syrinx had to do his best to ease the tension, otherwise there was going to be a bit of anarchy to pay. Tail whipped around him as the voice of another -Cifer- rang out and Syrinx would immediately narrow his eyes on the man.

"Your opinion amuses me. I should think an Adravendi knows how to rule, after all, we hail from kings. We'll change things as necessary, I find it that you might not think our reign to be so unbearable, we'll do as we please when we please and you'll probably have the same fate. My policy is: don't act as an idiot and I won't handle you like one," Elderly were surely present and where Eos would stand on them, he knew not, but Syrinx was allowing her the floor, making himself silent. He would not let the subordinates over run her, she had won against their alpha in the same odds he had. If she had been meant to fail, she would have, and it would have been done easily, though she hadn't and it was time at least one or two of the members before her realized that fact, sometimes the stronger option was better. They weren't going to harm anyone that held their tongue where it belonged.

WHEN THE IRON IN YOUR SOUL
~*~

Crusade was aware of her packmates begining to mass behind her. Pups, warriors, healers, - the first however was Awaken, who made an rather intersting display of himself. Crusade rolled her good eye heavenward. Bless him for his loyalty to his Chief, but really, now was hardly the time for lossing heads and storming off selfishly. The way Crusade saw it - the main body of the Glaciem pack was going to be moving as soon as this interview came to a close, and they could've used Awaken to help gather and guard the group. They had pups, after all, and a blind wolf too!

Males. Yeesh.

Yet while she might've disapproved of the Brave's actions, she more deeply disapproved the reprimand that this newly appeared he-wolf was giving him. "Your sovereign?" Crusade repeated quickly, cocking her head to get a better look at this stranger. "He has sworn no allegiance, and until he does, she is merely an outsider looking for power." Crusade had not come here to call names or sling petty insults, and such wasn't her intention now, however, the male had best watch his tone before the assembly.

What the male had next to say was better. Still, far from what would appease the gathered wolves, perhaps, but as far as the usual preceding of such cases go, it was just.

Next to speak, however, was another man, and this one she did approve of. She turned her head to let her gaze linger upon her stoic mate. Cifer had been one of the founding members. Crusade had accepted him herself and since that day he had been at the very heart of the Northern pack. He had every right to speak, and Crusade believed what he said was to his credit. Once more they awaited, with restraint, for the challenger to speak.

However it was the bone-jawed stranger who's voice against grated the frozen air. This time his disrespect crossed the line. His puppish arrogance betrayed him.

?I would think that the ?idoit? would be the one who thought a happy pack could be ripped of their leader and not respond with such-" she glanced with a subtle shrug in the direction which Awaken had chosen, "-flare." Then again, perhaps it did come as a surprise to this particular pair that packmates could love their Alpha so dearly as to display such anger at his removal. Yes, that was probably the case, wasn't it? ?That jaw of yours can certainly talk an fearsome game, sir, but I?m afraid my attention is for the one who actually won the match. Or was, anyway, you've rather spoiled my generous mood.?

She twisted her head away and focused her good eye upon the she-wolf. ?The Adravendi are of Valhalla," she said with a composure that vieled the intensity behind her words. "We had an alliance. I had known that there were changes in the ruling there, but I had not dreamed it would come to this. The challenge then, is far more treacherous than it first appeared." She sighed and blinked resignedly. "Very well, you have won for yourselves Glaciem's name, and the empty trappings of leadership." Her tongue licked dryly over her teeth "I wish you joy with them."

Crusade turned her back the leaders, aware that her mate was there to keep an eye should any further treachery ensue. She was washing her paws of the meeting, but she intended to wait at the top of the nearest pine dotted hill for the others. Whatever else they might be, in her mind they were still a pack and they were still her family, and of course she couldn't depart without rounding up the pups first. She nudged at her darlings, encouraging them to come along, unless of course they wanted to wait for their Dad.

Slowly, they would begin to show themselves; sulking from their cover with overwhelming measures of both sorrow and revulsion. It was to be expected, dragged from the close-knit lives they had always known, and thrust carelessly at the feet of a total stranger. A part of the auburn banshee wanted to care, wanted to ease off on her power-struck grasp and ease the family into the change, but hell- she would be kidding herself. Numb to the love of domestics, Eos had abandoned her own family; severed all bar one of the fraying ties to Valhalla. No empathy or sympathy would be offered to the weeping hearts of the former Glaciems, for not only did she fail to comprehend the motives behind their pain, but her arid character wouldn?t allow for such an emotional weakness. Eos was as fervently aloof as a youth her age would allow, far too impatient to amorously stroke the wounded ego?s and hearts of disappointed pack-members. She was queen now, she was superior.

Despite her sitting position beneath the structures of an aged pine, the approach of a snowy vixen would encourage sinew to tense beneath the leathers of wounded flesh; eying the bouncing string of infants that trailed obediently behind. Cute. Skull raised, swollen with an evident self-confidence as she acknowledged the elder female?s presence; emotions remaining ever-void as the fae began to state only the agonizingly obvious. ?One would come to expect such an entity, woman- I didn?t cripple your alpha to make them happy,? voice rung free with notable femininity, though lurking beneath the surface was a vagueness that nobody was ever able to put their finger on; it wasn?t anything sinister, but it was far from fairy-dusted and affectionate. Lime-green gaze strayed to the stiff pups that placed themselves a short distance behind her, not sparing the time to acknowledge the youth any more than then she already had.

But the snowed banshee wasn?t finished, and Eos was quick to respond to the proud mother?s remarks, ?Well then perhaps I should have killed him, hm? I can express this now, dove- it would have been more than artless. Perhaps then, your people would have something to be? ?pissed? about.? Eos had spared their so called ?chief? his life, if anything his family should have been thankful. Though who was this? A familiar scent trailed the winds, nipped fondly at the base of her nostrils and sent a shudder of pleasure to her skin; Syrinx. His collosal red body swayed from beneath the limbs of dainty pines, an alluring magnificence evident within each powerful stride as he made himself saluted within the strangers company. Of course, who else to be her mate, to rule with her, than her brother?

Though Syrinx?s opinions would not be welcomed, and as two ebony beasts would appear almost simultaneously, followed by a russet babe and soon an elderly snowed male, it was becoming ever-more clear that Syrinx would be a far more ominous leader than perhaps, Eos herself would have been. Several more multi-hued pups would also arrive. Eos didn?t have the energy to deal with the charcoal male awaken that had insisted on throwing such a public tantrum, sparing Syrinx his words of authority before silently watching as the dark wolf would retreat. He was dismissed as a member, and wouldn?t be needed. If he were so loyal, why weren?t he with his seemingly alive ?chief? now? The dark lady however midnight, sat in humble silence; and Eos openly offered her a few moments of eye-contact, hushed perhaps, but gifted time of thought none the less.

Gaze would drift back to the snowed she-wolf crusade, to her babes, to her pallid mate cifer and soon to the russet and dark faces of the women who sat in silence. ?I am not faint at heart, Glaciems. Plans are no more of my interest than the weather, I plot only to take proceedings as they arise; and come what may. I am before you now as a leader, to offer you a residence of protection and stability. Whether you choose to shadow or take your leave does not phase my awareness,? weight shifted atop its bed of ice, ?But the offer is there- no more or less, I have no time for prisoners or trouble seekers. You and your families may stay if you accept the change of tides, if you come to acknowledge that your alpha was overthrown by the ever-natural powers of youth, by a superior. However if you let my victory pluck arrogantly at your psyche and destroy your rationality, my benevolence may waver. Choose prudently.?

Though the bleached female?s crusade disposition would begin to crumble, collapsing around the sour words of her brother. Usually, somebody attempting to speak on her behalf would encourage a scowl of irritancy, but Syrinx was tolerable, despite the slight twang of unease. Were she suggesting Eos were involved in the Valhallan alliance? Hell, the russet youth would almost growl, fighting the rising desire to snap and swiftly correct this woman?s foolish mistakes. ?Your previous alliance with Valhalla has no performance in this situation; I have been disengaged from the bonds of my blood since yearling-hood. I do not appreciate your imprudent need to pry and poke at the past. My breeding is irrelevant; I am an individual, not the product of a surname,? voice was bitter, ears flicking defensively against the curves of her scalp. She didn?t need unnecessary drama, if the dove wanted to leave, nobody would stand to stop her.

ooc/ Sorry if anybody was missed. Clash, it'd be nice if Crusade could stay long enough to hear what Eos had to say, but no biggie if not.

She could have dealt with the dame sure the girl was abrupt sure she didn't like the new alpha but she could have subsisted, a shadow on the fringes watching over the weak. She had met the dames eyes and though she saw no kindness in them she suspected the lass would not have cared either way, and midnight would not have picked a fight but the males words set her teeth on edge and made her hackles rise. Who was he to demand their fealty he had not won their pack or their loyalty, he was simply the alphas mate and the alpha had yet to gain the pack she almost opened her mouth to say so but stopped herself at the last minute as the crusade once again spoke out her thoughts, far more eloquently then she would have managed. She no longer intended to say not with that brute holding sway but the pups, she was not going to leave them to this mad tyrant, not if she had a choice. The idea that gargoyle would be welcome back, would receive a title almost made her laugh surely he would not return, would he, bested by this dame his pack twisted beyond recognition its members scattered to the four winds, what reason would he have for coming back if the pups left with them.

She watched from the corner of her eye as the dame rounding up the children, but stayed in her spot between the alphas elect and the cubs waiting for the group to clear the field, her mind was made up her position decided and she let her hatred for the male shine from her eyes her teeth bared for a moment, before she turned taking up a rear guard behind the departing pups and their carer, she regretted not spending more time introducing herself to the dame, and to the other members of the pack, but it was to late now she could not go back to before. She turned at the last moment her words and gaze directed at the male rather then the new queen?i throw my lot with our chief he may have been bested but he has more honour in a single hair then you have in your entire body,? her gaze shifted to the dame and her voice changed somewhat no longer the barely controlled furry but a softer almost apologetic tone, ?you may make a strong queen may hold the borders of glaciem for longer then your predecessor, but the glaciem you seek to build is not one I wish to take part in,? she suspected she may just have burnt the bridges here and so she turned with a final swipe of her tail and moved after the other outgoing wolves. Home was not a patch of ground where you slept the night and hunted prey it was the people you stood shoulder to shoulder with, the pack, her pack was her home and her pack was moving out.

Awaken glanced tward Crusade. "Meet me in the old pack den later today. I need help getting ithurial and any pups out. I see arrogance in this one and i dont trust her around the young anf wounded." he wispered at her ear. ?He gave one last glance at Eos. The rage in his eyes apparent.

"whoever wants to go with Gargoyle can come with me now. " he threatened. "Cifer. Would you mind helping me carry a wounded denmother to her adopted father. ?He asked point blank on his way out

Eria had been one of the last stragglers of the meeting. After being caught in a snowbank, completely covered by snow, she wasn't able to hear the meeting howl until she had dug herself out. One ear had perked through the layers of cold, catching the call and sending the rest of her body across the snow. She flew on light paws, eager to reach what she was being summoned for.
What she came to was indeed a surprise. Everyone had gathered (from what she could see) and were speaking to two strangers. One smelled of battle, the other had the same underlying, natural scent of the female. Something about the two was unsettling and she didn't preferably like it. The realization that the female was here was another surprise for Eria. She remembered the battle Gargoyle had with a challenger, but she didn't know his opponent would have been so...young.
Words escaped Eria as she walked among her packmates, listening to both Crusade and Eos speak. Her eyes flicked to Syrinx as he spoke his two cents, then back to the two females who had originally spoken. She heard the stiffness and anger in the voices of Cifer and Awaken, but she didn't agree or disagree. Her heart was with Gargoyle, with the family Crusade had welcomed her to that past winter. She knew where she belonged, and that was with them.
When she saw Crusade begin to depart, she silently had one last glimpse of the new Alphas before turning and trotting towards the creamy white wolf. Her eyes shined with fresh disbelief and raw shock, allowing the female to see how she felt. "Miss Crusade..." she spoke gently, looking down at the pups to see if any of them went running off, "What will become of us? Where shall we go?"

Fallen, fallen was the old Glaciem that the dame had known since her adoption into this family. Took in was she along with her sister Keki with Crusade as their adoptive mother. Joy did she have and happiness until Keki got raped and bore her three nephews. Time did no one seem to have for her anymore. Cooperation did she have and does she....off by herself...around and about... Sadness in her heart for the time her sister and family no longer had for her. Guilt, for following her sister...for letting her mother sacrifice her life for hers... More guilt for being jealous of the puppies that took that time away. Loneliness with each and every passing day. Where did the dame go with the high spirits and the bounce in her step? Those high spirits out out...while the bounce, deflated.

Maka silently sat on her haunches...probably unnoticed so far. Due to her small size and the fact that she was a runt; well, she wasn't that easy to spot in a gathering of quite a few wolves. Her turquoise gaze turned towards her sister Keki as she saw one of her nephews Tiberious nuzzle into her sister's fur. A small smile appeared on her maw at the little action the puppy had done. Maka wished she could still get a caring as loving touch from her sister....but Keki's orbs my even too busy to even notice her sister looking at her. Maka sighs before turning towards the dame who had claimed Glaciem then to her mother, Crusade. Maka felt like she was the only one in this family that wasn't happy. The only one that actually felt left out.

The pressure on the dame only grew stronger as Crusade went for a move to leave with the family...and that meant Maka as well if it was her choice to do so. Such a choice was she unprepared for...she needed time to think. Of course usually you would expect her to rise and follow her mother to where she was now standing. But no....Maka sat there contemplating her final verdict. If she went with them she would feel like a burden and that silent loner of a wolf among the family. Even though if she did bring some joy to one of her nephews... And if she stayed would the dame wallow in the guilt of her own greed in staying here and not going with her family. Greedy should she not be... The she-wolf looked up at her sister Keki and their gazes met. Her turquoise eyes brimmed with small tears as Maka turned away. She was ashamed that she was even thinking about this. Family first right? But she didn't feel like family...she felt like a nobody again...

"Keki...I-I can't..." she stammered before turning to look back at their mother.

Her heart was beating a like a minute and her pelt felt as if it was heating up by her shoulder blades. It felt as sweat was dripping down her forehead when it wasn't even sweaty at all.

Maka then came to the final verdict.....she would follow instead of stay. The dame wanted to stay before but knew it would be better with family whether she be noticed or not. They were all she had left and all she could hope for still. For all the wolf knew she had no hope left for any sort of miracle to happen again. Maka would still remain the same and die alone...die loved but not realize it...and probably die sad. Her turquoise gaze averted to the ground before she stood up and gave a small nod towards her sister.

"I can....I can..." she said before walking up to stand beside her mother and brothers and sisters, nephews, and so much more family and other wolves that would decide to follow. She can break Glaciem but she can't break the family....or could she? Maka kept her eyes glued to her paws as her tiny frame stood behind Crusade and waited for someone to move and get out of here.... She was done with her final verdict. But neither not word have made her happy and nothing ever will.

The dame sat beside her three children. The children that hadn't been planned or had she been oven a choice of...but Keki loved them dearly. She had a hunch that Yinerious had notice something or a difference. He was much like herself while his brother Pericles was sort of like their Aunt Maka; well when she used to be all giddy. And Kairos? Her troubled son...the looks of his father along with an impending attitude like him. The dame wondered what vile thing in his mind drive him to act in such a confused manner. It was as if he was stuck in a skin he did not belong in. The worried mother then came to know that her son and brother Cross had witnessed something gruesome as well. Only to hear from Kairos that he had charged at the attacker and got in a few small scratches before being swung away. And that's how he accumulated a tiny scar across the top of his muzzle when his face hit a tree. Hopefully the scar would fade in time as it heals more but at least it wasn't serious.

She wondered still why he chose fight rather than flight. His father sure didn't has he took his time and played with her like a toy. A shudder ran down her spine as she then felt Tberious nuzzle her. Keki leaned down and bent her neck to lick her son on the too if his head. She felt that she wasn't raising her three boys as well as she should be. But the dame was so busy and in time all would realize their difference from the others of not having a father like the other children. But the do have one...and it seems like Kairos has been up to findin more about the subject. With a sigh she turned to the dame who was now in rule before turning to her mother. Crusade then turned to make leave and take the family with her. Keki of course without a second thought knew she would be going with her family.

Her bi/colored eyes then settled on her sister. Tears brimmed Maka's eyes as the dame listened to her say she couldn't...couldn't what? Keki then watched as Maka stood up and gave her a small nod before saying she could. Worry and concern was portrayed on the wolf's face. Had er sister really been that distant that Keki had forgotten about her? Truthfully she had and she felt quite guilty about it. But as her sister went to their mother's side so did Keki as she tried to herd her own three pup along as well.

The boy had no idea what the heck was goin on. He just sat beside his mother and brothers as he went cross eyes looking at his muzzle. Kai's purple gaze tried to focus on the scar or the scratch upon his muzzle. Sure he had been stupid to go after the attacker but he was just too darn stubborn. And what did that get him? A tree to the face...that's what. But the pup admired this mark on his muzzle. It made him stand out from his brothers now. Yes the same patterns in different colors but did they have the same scar? No. And Kairos had his first drawing of blood. Those scratches on the so called Sixx meant something to him. The first of many in his life the boy assumed.

Kairos looked at his cousins or should he say Uncles. And then he looked at grandma Crusade. We're they going to leave? He didn't want to leave! Kairos liked the snow! He liked the cold! His purple gaze narrowed as he looked around. Were they all going to leave? Kai stood up and pushed past his brother Tinerious to get a good look at the new chief. She smelled different and there was a male there too. His purple gaze stared right at that male and at his odd jaw. Kairos gave a smirk before turning back to look at his mother. The boy then saw that she had stood up to leave with his grandmother. He scrambled to get back to his mothers side and then wait for simething else to happen. The pup then looked at his Aunt Maka....she didn't seem so happy. So he leaned into his mother and nuzzled her leg so he would make himself feel better about this whole situation.
