Perhaps she was crazy for leaving the Glaciem's boundaries in search of something she had only heard about. Perhaps she was asking to be attacked by taking the trek all on her own without anyone to protect her. Even she questioned why she had to do this, and now, without anyone else to go along with her. It wasn't as if she had any reason whatsoever to see the Cathedral Point; it held no significance to her. And honestly she should have waited. She had friends amongst her pack mates who would have been willing to go along had she only but asked. Practically anyone might have been willing to join her the Glaciem were such a friendly bunch. It was as if they knew nothing about the term "stranger" when it came to their band.
But as much as she even chided herself, Mercianne was quite enjoying the trip. Heavy winter clouds covered the sky and rained down a gentle snow, adding to the thick layer that already covered the ground any surface that it had managed to cling to. Small bits of it even settled amid the black, white, and cream strands of her own fur, melting after a short stay there due to her body heat. It was an enjoyable winter's day, and she just hadn't been able to keep herself confined to the pack's territory.
Already she could see the first spires of ice, smooth and blue and curious in their placement. The winds, customary in this area, picked up with gentle force, but it didn't deter her. Her timid smile was fixed there upon her face as her dark brown eyes took in the shapes of the ice that lay ahead, an eagerness entering her steps. Merci continued forward happily, content, appearing quite at ease and unaware that anyone else might also be within the same vicinity.
