They had left the battlefield at a reasonable pace. Sasori would not test his physical limits. Not yet at least. He had to have enough energy to be able to cross over to Black Island first. It had taken them a few days to reach the end of the mainland. By now Sasori had observed the other male and had taken mental notes of what he could do and what he seemed to excel in. For the most part, not that he hadn't already figured it out, he was a curious wolf with an extreme desire to learn. That much was obvious, otherwise he wouldn't have agreed to come with the chocolate hued male to begin with.

At last they were here. The final stretch of their journey. Glacial blue eyes stared out across the expanse of ocean ahead of them. He could see the familiar storm clouds that loomed over the island. He made it very clear which island they would be swimming to. It would be dangerous. Thankfully they'd arrived when the tide was at it's best, but it wouldn't eliminate the current completely and it sure didn't mean there wouldn't be sharks or other creatures that would thoroughly enjoy killing them.

He shifted his weight and toes wiggled into the sand as he turned to look at Roberto with a serious expression on his face.

"I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume you can swim, right? It's going to be a difficult journey across this ocean to that island. That's the place I call home."

[ooc: Sorry it's not as long. Just figured it'd be something to get it going :3]

Roberto was easily entertained. Always had been. The past few days he had spent traveling with his new teacher had been some of the best in his young life. Traveling with another wolf was a completely different experience than it was when he wandered by himself. He didn't usually have a destination in mind when he went anywhere and he guessed maybe that made a difference. Being excited to get somewhere to see this new place was exciting. It was especially exciting since it was going to be his new home! He had padded along beside Sasori, really wanting to run and hurry and get there faster, but he didn't. Teacher knew best.

Finally Bob's amber eyes caught sight of the shoreline as he followed his friend up to the edge of the ocean. He tilted his head curiously. Wolves didn't live in water! That was where fish lived, not wolves. Then he looked up toward the horizon, spotting land in the distance. An island! Oh, that made more sense. His ears twitched and he listened to Sasori's question, seeing that being able to swim was a necessity to live with his teacher. Luckily, Roberto knew how to do that! He had been swimming for a long time! He nodded happily, feeling like he had passed the first test of some sort. "Yep! I can swim! I can definitely do that!" It didn't occur to the brute that the current in this ocean wasn't like the lakes and rivers he had swam in before, nor did he know what sharks were. He also didn't notice how erie the island they were heading toward was with its thick storm clouds. Bob was determined and nothing was going to get in his way!

The male was relieved to hear that he could swim. Least he'd gotten that far. He hoped he could handle the current. Sasori didn't wanna have to save his sorry hide is he messed up and got sucked under. It could kill them both. Especially if they were drug to the jagged rocks near the island. He didn't necessarily want to dance with death. Not with the ocean. Lakes and rivers were one thing but such a great expanse of water full of things that could kill you.... well that was a whole other matter.

"Good. Stick close to me and don't stray too far. Copy my every move and if you see something in the water swim faster."

With that the brute slipped into the warm waters without looking back. He trusted that he'd listen and stick to him like glue. He had a feeling he wouldn't hesitate in following him. He kept it a slow pace as strong legs propelled him forward paws cutting through the water easily. This was going to be interesting. He could feel it.

If there was one thing Bob could do, it was follow directions. As he followed Sasori out into the open water he took his teacher's directions to heart. He paddled along, keeping up with him easily enough for now. He had to wonder what the brown and white brute had meant by things in the water though. Surely fish couldn't hurt them, right? So why would they need to swim faster? He shrugged it off and kept on swimming, following the brute as closely as he could. His legs, strong from the long days of traveling he had done in his short life, kicked through the salty water easily. His tail streamed out behind him as they moved along at a steady pace toward the stormy island.

(OOC: equally short post xD)

Things went by without incident it seemed and soon he could feel sand and shells beneath his feet. The chocolate brute pulled himself from the sea and looked back at Roberto for a moment before coming to a halt and shaking his pelt till he looked like a giant fluff ball. It took only a moment to lick his fur back into place and allow the rest lie flat before he looked upon the darkened island. The sun was setting and soon it would be night time. He could tell by a tiny gap in the clouds that loomed over the island.

"This is home. This will be where I teach you the majority of the things you need to know. Plants. Animals. Herbs. Tricks. Hunting. Fighting. Most of it can be done here. If not I will simply take you back to the mainland or another island. We'll train here about four or five days a week. Any other time feel free to take time off. For now don't get yourself killed. This island is teeming with venomous wildlife."

Roberto was relieved when he saw that the island was getting closer and closer. He had been thinking about Sasori's warning about seeing things in the water the whole trip and he got more and more anxious about it. He kept thinking that he saw something pass by them, but he wasn't sure if it was really there or in his imagination so he didn't say anything. Luckily they got to the far shore before he had to find out if they were real or not. He scrambled onto the shore, giving only a quick, spiteful glance back at the ocean behind him before shaking as much of the salt-water off of him as he could. His coat was fairly thin so it didn't fluff up when he shook it out, but instead made little spikes of fur all along his back. He didn't bother to smooth his fur like Sasori did. He was already busy taking in the landscape and searching the air for any new smells.

His teacher broke his concentration when he spoke. Bob turned to look at the brown and white brute, his ears turned to catch his words. He listened to the ground rules and he nodded with understanding. They were simple enough. He would learn stuff for five days and then he would have two days to not learn things. Easy! He wasn't so happy about the venomous things Sasori mentioned, but Bob figured that'd be something else he would learn. His brain was like a sponge, just absorbing everything his teacher told him. It took him a minute to understand things sometimes, but eventually he understood everything he had been told so far. He hoped that would be the case with the other stuff. Roberto looked around at the island again and asked, "What are we gonna do now? What do I get to learn first?" The black brute looked over at Sasori expectantly.
