doing well, I hope

Arrangements were being made, Ochitsuki had agreed to act as the officiant in their private ceremony. The only koi wolf who didn't dwell within Tojo that he trusted with this matter, who's word carried weight in his mind and thusly knew how things ought to be done. It would be quite the trip for Kiriko in her condition, but it needed to be done and soon before travel would be too risky for her.
He knew where to find her, of course, she'd been staying in his dens as of late and it wasn't as if he had the mind to kick her out. They were to be wed, there was no reason to be so prudish considering what had already happened between them. Not a mistake, but something he'd never really considered before. Perhaps he'd gotten too used to solitude, stuck in his stubborn old ways and...well, not taken advantage of since that would imply he disliked it. It felt like a tedious thing to think about, to untangle, and it probably wasn't worth the effort anyway.
"Kiriko." He greeted, his voice gruff but not unkind. "We leave Nook in a few days time. Is there anything you need? "

Arrangements. They were to be wed. Kiriko wasn’t sure exactly what it would all entail, but she was excited. Things had finally all worked out for her, and she was free to feel the most important things now. Excitement. Happiness. Even some closeness to Hattori, more so than before. Though she knows who he is and what he’s about, she also doesn’t mind. A political marriage, but he hasn’t been devoid of tenderness. They didn’t need to untangle the strange web woven between them. Frankly, that was energy better spent elsewhere. For both of them.
Hattori’s approach isn’t unwelcome, and she offers a gentle smile and twitch of her tail by way of greeting. ”I should be alright, but I worry we may need to leave a bit early. I’m just… slow these days.” Kiriko’s tone and expression both were sheepish. She feels bad about asking for the accommodation, but baking quite this many puppies was… a lot. It’s a lot, and she’s perhaps a bit embarrassed.

Hattori grunted in acknowledgment, he had considered as much. For a healthy wolf the journey would be long but not overly taxing, but if she said she would be able to cope then the Kaicho would take her word on it. She was a talented healer and understood her body more than Hattori could ever claim to. Should things become too difficult she would say as much and she would be catered to, it was about as simple as that in Hattori's mind.
"That is fine." He insisted, as that had also been taken into account. Hattori was nothing if not thorough, even if they were on a bit of a time crunch. "And are you well?" Was the next, if not expected question he asked.
