Mercury set up in the late afternoon, before he lost the sunlight. He set up some boards for people to work on, as well as a stack of parchment and charcoal for writing. He set up a small, controlled fire for light to work by, and then simply sat back on the grass and bided his time.
This land was perfect for what he wished to demonstrate, with a long and unbroken line of sight to the stars. Once the evening grew late, and the sun began to vanish, he tilted back his head and gave a summoning howl. Calling to any who wished to learn a little more about the stars, and making star charts.

[Location for Home Turf: The Starlit Plains]
Gloom needed to get her mind off of things, her mother's imminent passing weighed heavy on her mind and she needed a distraction. Maybe it was very much a testament to her mental state that she was seeking to answer the call of a stranger to get that distraction. At least while Audra was busy, much as she wanted to monopolize the earthen woman's time she would hold herself back from actually doing so. Maybe it was also a deep desire to prove to everyone around her that it hadn't been a mistake to allow her into their midst. To do that she needed to expand her horizons, maybe literally in this case but still it couldn't hurt to learn new things, things no one had ever taught her. Though was that really surprising? About the only thing any adults had taught her as a child had been her uncle teaching her to fish.
Still all those mitigating factors aside she approached with all the usual awkwardness, gaze down turned and her head ducked and the look of a prey animal ready to bolt at the first sign of danger. She gave the silver man a small shy nod in greeting but otherwise didn't speak, not yet. She didn't really have it in her to give an introduction until someone else did first. So instead she hovered awkwardly, waiting for either more wolves to show up or for whatever he had planned to begin.
