Mercury set up in the late afternoon, before he lost the sunlight. He set up some boards for people to work on, as well as a stack of parchment and charcoal for writing. He set up a small, controlled fire for light to work by, and then simply sat back on the grass and bided his time.

This land was perfect for what he wished to demonstrate, with a long and unbroken line of sight to the stars. Once the evening grew late, and the sun began to vanish, he tilted back his head and gave a summoning howl. Calling to any who wished to learn a little more about the stars, and making star charts.

[Location for Home Turf: The Starlit Plains]

Gloom needed to get her mind off of things, her mother's imminent passing weighed heavy on her mind and she needed a distraction. Maybe it was very much a testament to her mental state that she was seeking to answer the call of a stranger to get that distraction. At least while Audra was busy, much as she wanted to monopolize the earthen woman's time she would hold herself back from actually doing so. Maybe it was also a deep desire to prove to everyone around her that it hadn't been a mistake to allow her into their midst. To do that she needed to expand her horizons, maybe literally in this case but still it couldn't hurt to learn new things, things no one had ever taught her. Though was that really surprising? About the only thing any adults had taught her as a child had been her uncle teaching her to fish.

Still all those mitigating factors aside she approached with all the usual awkwardness, gaze down turned and her head ducked and the look of a prey animal ready to bolt at the first sign of danger. She gave the silver man a small shy nod in greeting but otherwise didn't speak, not yet. She didn't really have it in her to give an introduction until someone else did first. So instead she hovered awkwardly, waiting for either more wolves to show up or for whatever he had planned to begin.

Sitting in front of her vanity, Clove was combing through her fur with a brush her mother had gifted to her. Focusing hard on her reflection, as the sound of her playing brothers loping down the hallway sounded out behind her. Part of her wanted to run off and join them in their games. But she refrained because Clove already had plans for the rest of her evening. Father told her that his lead warrior, Mercury, would host a lesson tonight. One about the stars. And being the starstruck little girl she was, Clove had become so excited to join the event, that nothing would detour her from doing so.

And so, she was making sure to look groomed and proper, because she didn’t know who else would be joining. And once she was done, she waited for Mercury’s call- racing down the corridor when it rang out, and making her way out into the starlit plains. Luckily, he had lit a fire- which made it easy to locate the large man in the dark. Approaching him, and glancing at the woman beside him. Clove warmly smiled at them both, before stopping near the fire to admire its warmth. “Hello Mercury!” She beamed, and turned to the woman. “Hello! Umm,” She didn’t know who she was, but she smelt like their pack, so she must have been a member. “I’m Clove!” But she’d give the woman her name anyways.

Mercury smiled warmly at Gloom as the small female appeared and joined the lesson. He indicated with his paw for her to sit by a board where she could work. Shortly after, Clove appeared. He smiled also at Art’s daughter, who also removed the need for introductions by introducing herself and him to the other wolf.

Once introductions were settled, he began. “Thank you both for coming, today we are going to be concentrating on star charts.” He explained. “I’ve placed some tools there for you to work with. We are going to start by making two circles, this will make it easier to add in the constellations” He explained. He grabbed his own charcoal and carefully drew out two circles, and turn his page around so they could see what he meant.
