Rivin has two companions - a bobcat and a wolverine. Unless otherwise mentioned IC, assume that they are close by.
The scream could be heard from down the beach. Gil had been minding his own business when the sound caught his attention. One ear flicked as he noticed Urtur begin to bristle. In a single moment, The Raid King was on alert. His head lifting, ears perking up, fur beginning to puff up around his scruff. Whoever was making a racket needed to settle down or answer to him. Concerned that trouble was at paw when another scream let loose, Gil put down what he was working on and took off down the beach. At an easy lope, his paws ate up the sand until he saw the familiar form of Rivin. She appeared... visibly upset, but alone. Was she screaming at herself?
His brow furrows as his pace slows and he approaches the girl. "Rivin," he states simply, but the affliction of his tone is there. The concern of someone who saw the girl as a daughter figure even if she wasn't his by blood. "Something the matter?" Gil continues to assess her, his head tilting lightly as he notices the harrowed expression on her enraged features.

Gil is frozen as he watches Rivin dissolve in front of him. The pain in her voice is evident as she collapses to the ground. Stay away? Doesn't want her to hurt them? Who was she talking about? She was Rivin, right? Unless she had the same affliction her father had. Well fuck. That wouldn't be surprising, but also... that was very concerning. Suddenly, there's an issue and Gil isn't sure how to handle it. He's not a healer. He's not a therapist. He doesn't know how to handle feelings and emotions and whatever it was going on in Rivin's mind.
He can't help but growl. How was he to fight an invisible force? His teeth clench together. Ears flattening against his skull. "Rivin, get up," Gil commands, the deep rumble of his voice leaving no space to argue. He's going to combat this the only way he knows how. "I don't care who the fuck is in your head, but you are in charge. Tell her to shut up and ship out. I don't care if you need me to beat you into the ground right here and now, but I will not tolerate one of my pack members going on a killing spree," there is a seething tone to his voice as his lips raise into a snarl. He lowers his head, hunches his shoulders, puffs up his fur as he steps toward the cowering Rivin. Sure, he doesn't want to hurt her, but if this is the only way...

Rivin's whimpering protests go ignored by Gil. While she may not want to hurt anyone, whoever was in her head had other ideas. This much is clear as soon as Rivin freezes for a moment. It catches him off guard, his own body stiffening as he practically watches the girl transform in front of him. The voice that emits from Rivin next is different. He can only assume it's this "Caedes" that Rivin has spoken about.
Standing there, unamused, Gil listed a brow. His body is shifting into a more dominant stature. Head lifting high, his tail rising to flag over his back, fur still bristled around his crystals, and lips lifted up into a snarl. He would not take threads from someone who hid in the mind of someone else. No words respond to the voice that clearly isn't Rivin. If a fight is what this beast wanted, a fight is what she would receive. Holding his ground, he watches as Rivin, or Caedes?, lunges toward him with her head down and antlers aimed straight for his chest.
Instead of meeting her head on, he dodges to the side. As his paws skid through the sand, he turns to face Rivin perpendicularly. Utilizing his momentum, he lunges back for Rivin and attempts reach out with his fangs and grab ahold of her scruff. If he can, he'll try to pull her closer and wrap his legs around her shoulders.

It didn't matter if the tines of her antlers did catch him. Pain ripping across his chest as she began to flail wildly. He ignored it as his legs grabbed her and pulled her closer to him. Holding on for dear life, Gil refused to let go. Burying his mouth and fangs into her neck, he could taste her blood as it filled his mouth. Not that he wanted to hurt Rivin, but whoever this Caedes was wasn't going to go out quietly either. If he could just hang on long enough for Rivin to fight that inner voice herself... maybe it would help.
As Rivin pushed at him, trying to topple him over, Gil refuses. Digging his rear paws into the sand, he pushes back. Though he is shorter and slimmer of frame, he is just as strong, if not stronger and more experienced. And he would yell, scream in her ear to not give up, but he wouldn't let go. Wouldn't give her a chance to be able to stab him with those antlers. No way, no how. Pushing once more with all of his might, he attempts to topple her over and wrestle her to the ground.

As soon as Rivin's body went limp and the pressure removed itself from his body, he's forced to catch himself. Taking a step over the girl who has flopped upon the sand, Gil rights himself and positions himself better so that he's standing near her instead of over top of her. Though he can hear her words, he doesn't respond right away. He pants, catching his breath, going over the motions of what had just happened. Maiming youngsters who he saw as his own children (she wasn't, but Abraxas dammit, it wasn't like Ignis was a great father either) wasn't his forte or pleasure.
"Don't apologize," his voice is gruff, still needing him to clear his throat. "You must learn to control this Caedes of yours or you will do things you'll regret," Gil warns, his chin tilting downward so he can peer at Rivin. She appears apologetic, but he wonders how strong her mental abilities are. Did she truly want to fight off Caedes or would she allow the devil inside to take over one day?
