Basilisk left Ignita to it, and made his way back into the heart of the Col. He ran a quick mental check - was there anything else he needed to do before he ran the meeting? If there were any other allegiances to strength, they would take time. There was nothing he could improve with a few more hours, only delay the inevitable.
He ignored the itching in his bandaged leg, and started to head to the Obelisk at a trot when a familiar shape caught his attention. “Levi?” He asked, drawing to a halt as he turned to his brother. He hadn’t spent much time with the other wolf in a while. He felt like so much had changed since he and Levi had last connected. Did he ever think about their lost siblings too?

Levi wasn't a frequent sight around the Col. He wasn't sought out often at all, but most knew to find him amongst the trees in the Mile High woods. He supposed he just hadn't wandered back yet, not before Basilisk called out for him, seemingly-presumably- wanting to talk. He approached, a level of ease to his steps, the old stone cold against his small paw pads.
"Yeah what?" Came his response, not overly friendly but not to what those who knew him to be as anything aggressive, or worth worrying about. His gaze flitted to the bandaging around his brother's leg, from scent alone he could tell that blood had been shed, but not cut so deep it would cause any permanent damage. Probably.

Basilisk still had a great deal left to do, and he could feel time passing him by. There was a lot of wolves in the Armada to familiarise himself with, there were supplies to go through with the coming of winter. There was the meeting he needed to call, to make his stand and leadership clear.
He squinted at his smaller brother, and shook his head. “Never mind, I thought you were seeking me out” He said, realising he had misunderstood the intention of the gold trimmed wolf. “I’m calling a meeting, I’ll see you there” He said, running the logistics through his mind once more as he turned back to his path.

Levi rolled his eyes as he moved to follow his big brother. Much bigger brother. He recalled their sire had tried to incite a rivalry between them, but it never really stuck. Levi knew his worth and didn't feel the need to compete. Both were capable fighters in their own right, one making up for certain skills and attributes the other lacked.
"Don't be dramatic. You know I've got your back, I didn't think it needed saying." He huffed, his voice drier then the Sand River to the east. He was also somewhat confused why Bas was confused by his demeanour, not like he hadn't ever been like this.

‘Don't be dramatic…’ he looked back at his brother. So the other had been seeking him out, but didn't want to admit to it? Whatever the reasoning going on, Bas let his thoughts about pack preparations grind to a halt. Levi deserved more of his attention than that.
Turning his attention more fully on the only sibling left to him, he inclined his head. “Thank you, Levi. I've got yours, too” he said. Leaving some things unspoken - like how they were the only ones left. Their siblings and their parents were gone. Life had taken a few strange turns for them, but he was grateful Levi was still there. “Want to walk with me? Feel like being a sounding board for some ranks?” He suggested.

A walk would be fine, it wasn't as if he had anywhere else to be right now. Falling into step beside his much taller brother, his ear flicked, gesturing that Bas had the floor to speak. Not that he really needed any prompting, out of the two of them he was likely the most talkative. The position of leadership no doubt suited the dire dire wolf much more than it would him, he hadn't felt at all slighted at being skipped over. No jaded or jealous brother discourse to be had here, for now anyway.
"I don't see this going too terribly anyway, some of Seer's kids might throw a tantrum," he shrugged as if to say it is what it is. Bas was a Fatalis just as much as the others, there wasn't a reason he shouldn't take the helm. Not like some random had tried to sieze control and the old man had been prepping him for this forever, maybe even before their parents wandered off to be toxic and codependent somewhere else. Gross "If someone thinks they're smart and tries to start a coup, it won't get very far."
