Ignita was trying, and failing, to stifle her grumbling. She didn't want to go out hunting for goats to tame. Maybe she should keep her suggestions to herself next time! Maybe she could tell them to Wylan or Spider later... They would be able to do something about them and she wouldn't have to do the dirty work of making the suggestion happen. Though with her luck lately she'd be roped into it anyway as a slave.

She made her way to the central area of the Col. What is a Col anyway? Why did they call it that? She wondered as she stomped her way to the central pillar. Oh there was writing on it, interesting, but not her task, she'll look at that later.

Why didn't he just order someone to help her, why did she have to go get someone herself? Would they even believe her that this task came from the Warlord himself?
She approached the nearest pack member she could find, her eyes cast down, hoping it would be a good sign of respect, she hadn't met them yet.

"The Warlord has ordered me to find a breeding pair of mountain goats and to find someone to help me. I'm Ignita, do you have some time for that?" She didn't know if everyone knew she was a slave yet, she hadn't paid that much attention at the meeting a few days earlier with her mind wandering, and couldn't recall if he had said anything about it.

Tethys didn't tend to pry much into affairs that did not concern her, but as she grew older she found herself more and more interested in what was going on in the pack, at least outside of her little circle. She'd heard they had a new slave, but beyond that - how she'd been obtained or what her purpose here was - was lost on her. Such things were far from her mind as she made her way through the Col, though someone approaching her disrupted her focus entirely.

Looking a bit confused at the request and sudden barrage of information, Tethys blinked bright orange eyes as she pulled back a bit and assessed the stranger. Her scent was plainly Armada, though otherwise she was unfamiliar. And given the fact she'd received an order, assuming she was the pack's newest slave was as good a guess as any. But she was slow to answer her, brows furrowed tightly as she processed what she'd said. "Tethys Fatalis," she gave her own name in return, her tone somewhat monotonous and voice of much at all, purely informative.

She asked if Tethys would help her and after a moment she allowed a small nod. It felt less like she was being ordered around and more like her services were being requested, and she had no reason to doubt Ignita's intentions. Though she tended toward being reasonably skeptical, this sounded more like a power move on Basilisk's behalf, which wasn't surprising given his new role as Warlord. Interesting... "Yeah, sure. Have you started tracking them down yet?" She'd lived here her entire life, so finding them wouldn't be terribly difficulty for the Armada girl, but she wondered if Ignita had an idea or not where to start yet.

The LittleSlave watched the ground while the other took a few moments to answer her. Slowly Ignita's golden gaze wandered up to the dark paws of the female she approached.

When Tethys gave her name she brought her gaze up further, eager to admire the other's colorful pelt of twilight, and looked up just as Tethys gave her a curt nod.

The Little Slave nearly melted into herself with relief, she hated coming upon others she didn't know and just coldly introducing herself, it was almost worse than being in a crowd.
She exhaled with relief, "Oh, thank you! Tethys! Nice to meet you!" She said earnestly, believing the worst of the job was over now, her tail beginning to wave back and forth.

"Tracking... them... down?" She made a sheepish grin and shrugged, "Sorry, I'm not much of a hunter. I typically make things, explore places, and discover things. I know deserts and human things, but I don't know mountains. Where should we start?"

Talking to wolves she didn't know well was... strange, to say the least. Tethys didn't know the first thing about this woman, other than that she was most likely someone that had been enslaved by the Armada. The more she thought about it, the more she wondered - was Basilisk just trying to flex his power as Warlord? Not that the answer meant anything to her, but still she found herself wondering.

The relief that poured out from Ignita was hard for Tethys to comprehend. The other girl visibly shifted, exhaling and thanking her for helping. Tethys merely nodded in response. "It's nice to meet you too. You're new to the Armada, yeah?" She was almost positive she was the slave she'd heard about, but assuming things without being certain was never a good idea. Maybe she'd even give a little insight into what had gotten her enslaved in the first place.

Tethys nodded slightly in response to Ignita's question. "It shouldn't be too hard to find them, but the matter of getting them back here is a different story. The Warlord requested you capture them, not kill them?" She'd ask, just to be sure, raising a single brow in inquiry. "And he wants a breeding pair?" Ignita had said that, but Tethys was only half-asking, also speaking out loud and trying to figure out how they'd do this. And without any real tools...

"It'll probably be easiest if we go after one at a time. They'll be tough to drag back here without working together. I know their usual roaming grounds," she admitted, gaze searching Ignita's features before they set off. Tethys wouldn't waste any time in moving across the uneven terrain, not bothering to see if Ignita was following her. Catching hold of the scent of a small group of goats wasn't a hard feat, and soon she was hot on their trail.

Ignita nodded to the other's question, "Yep! I'm new. Basilisk brought me in to work in the storerooms and organize the food supplies, that sort of thing." She replied, shrugging her shoulders. Was she actively lying if she didn't outwardly admit her rank? Would "work the storerooms" be sufficient for the gist? Ignita didn't know, would she get in trouble for it? She also didn't know. Interesting experiment at least.

"Right, right, not kill them... A breeding pair... Oh! Wait hang on! I'll be right back!" She remembered maybe she saw some rope in the storerooms and dashed as fast as she could back to the storeroom and nosed through her clutter.
Oh, it was not great rope... She'd have to craft some later or have Idalia help her, for now, that'll do, hopefully.

She dashed back to the Col and quickly caught up to the Direwolf. Her little legs took two steps for every one of the others. She was out of breath when she caught up, an old thin grass rope draped over her neck and shoulder.
"Would... this... help?" She asked in between her pants. Maybe they could keep the goats tied up somewhere while a pen was built for them. She'd rather goat herding not be her job, she had other things to do. She'll catch them with Tethys, but she really didn't want to hang out with the bleating things all day.

Tethys listened as she explained she'd been brought in to work the storerooms... which wasn't really a lie, but she was purposefully omitting an important detail. Or so she thought. But instead of confronting her or prying further, Tethys merely wrinkled her nose and considered what she'd said. It wasn't untrue but it wasn't like she was being completely transparent either, which didn't settle well with her. She found herself shifting her weight from one side of her body to the other, a sign of her discomfort, even if she wasn't quite sure why she suddenly felt less eager to complete this task with this near-stranger.

Her discomfort only grew when Ignita said she'd be right back, though she didn't make her wait long before returning with a thin grass rope. It was better than nothing, for sure. Tethys nodded slowly in response. "It should help," she said simply. If they could grab hold of one of the beasts and one could use the rope to help keep them contained, surely dragging them back home would be easier. It'd also help keep them wherever they deposited them.

Instead of sitting and feeling uncomfortable she was glad to keep moving, following the scent of the goats more closely now. It was easy enough to spot a few up ahead of them, climbing a steeper section of terrain. "This might be a two part job. Doubt we can catch two at once." Once they started to wrangle one she had no doubt the second would flee, though given the uneven terrain she doubt it'd make it all that far before they circled back around to it.

Figuring out how to capture without hurting felt like the hardest part of all this for her, especially when the smell of goat made her stomach rumble, reminding her off her faint hunger. Pushing those thoughts aside, Tethys kicked off hard to move to higher ground, scrambling over rubble to move closer to the goats. They began to stir, and she decided to move quickly, hoping Ignita would follow her lead. Grabbing the other end of the rope, she loped forward - aiming to push past the group of goats and trap one behind the rope carefully.

Ignita missed the uncomfortable cues from Tethys and followed along oblivious of what she had in store for her or what to do. She was glad the ropes were helpful! She had not thought very long about how she would catch one, nevermind two, and nodded to the other's comment.

She wasn't sure what the twilight wolf had in mind and dumbly watched her grab the line and move through the goats, separating one from the flock as they started to bleat and scatter. She wondered if mountain goats would react similarly to desert sheep.  All they had to do was tangle the legs with the rope or get the rope over the ram's horns to immobilize them, right? Was that what Tethys was doing?

Why did all the goats have horns? Where are they all rams? She didn't know which gender was the one Tethys was working on, but Ignita grabbed the other end of the rope and bounded toward the goat about 12 whole seconds after Tethys started moving. Holding the rope with her teeth she swung the limp middle up just enough to catch one of the horns, then as she was running up another way, she swung her head to loop the rope again on one of the other goat horns but it slipped and didn't catch right. Without checking in with Tethys she decided to dive around the goat this time dragging the loose rope to trip the ungulate and hoping to tangle the legs with it.

It was an unusual task for sure, but Tethys wasn't ever deterred by a challenge. It didn't seem Ignita was either. Diligently they set off and eventually found their way to some of the goats, Tethys moving first to try to rope one of them before they began to scatter completely - once they did, they'd be damn near impossible to catch up to, not without spooking them further or making them scramble to higher ground.

She caught on to what Ignita was trying to do and she aimed to do the same, hoping to maneuver herself just the right way so the rope could catch the goat by the horns. Even moving to slightly higher ground to try to angle it correctly proved futile. Though she wasn't in tune with what the other woman was up to, she knew she didn't want to lose out on the goat they'd nearly captured, so she loped down the incline slightly, trying to keep the rope angled around it.

Once she realized Ignita was angling for the legs, she'd commit to the same course of action. Once the rope was lined up properly she made a wide arc around the goat, who by this point was clearly tangled up in the mess of rope, no longer able to properly flee. "Now, if we can get it..." Tethys started, carefully moving toward the thing. It didn't seem to cooperate, beginning to bleat and kick. "Let's just try to drag it back?" She shot Ignita a glance. Sure, the other woman had been the one requesting help with this task, but Tethys clearly was no expert either.

Tethys was an excellent cooperative partner to Ignita'shalf hazard, bullheaded moves. It just occurred to her that maybe saying something about what she was doing would have Tethys along, but the dark and aurora colored woman seemed to have no qualms with reading Ignita's movements and intentions.

When the goat was well and truly tangled Ignita jumped up and wagged her tail in victory.
"Nice!" She exclaimed but squashed her joy as it became obvious that the goat would have a hard time walking with its legs in a tangle.

Hmmm... Could she loop the rope around its neck, untangle the legs, and then lead it back? She tried a few steps too and just like it did with Tethys's approach it started to bleat and kick furiously. She didn't want to overly stress the animal. Dragging it back shouldn't be too much of a problem... Especially with a random piece of giant bark from the nearby Red Wood forest that would provide a sled!

"Here! I'll hold this, you try and drag the goat onto it and we can drag it easily back to the Col without hurting it further!" She suggested, placing the large makeshift sled closer to the bleating goat.

As a wolf who didn't feel feel as though she understood anyone really, especially not wolves that weren't family, she relied heavily on observing and trying to follow the intentions of others. It was far easier to do that rather than admit she needed clarification ever, and saved her the trouble of admitting that weakness about herself. The Armada didn't really feel like it had any room for weakness, and Tethys certainly wouldn't be the first to admit sometimes she needed help - she always figured it out, after all.

Trying her best to orient herself properly, it seemed they'd successfully snagged one of the goats. Though it was partly due to coordination Tethys couldn't feel like somehow they'd only managed this by sheer luck. She slowed and paused as it seemed Ignita had an idea, watching as she retrieved a large flat piece of tree bark. That definitely made more sense than trying to drag the bleating goat back. She nodded along, happy to take the role in following instruction especially since she'd led the charge first.

Carefully she tugged the rope and led the goat, somewhat unwillingly, onto the piece of bark. Now with the two of them pulling the sled moved easily over the ground, the goat seeming to hold on for dear life as they began to pull. "Now just one more after this," she reminded her, a little sullenly. "Hopefully we can find a female next." A quick examination confirmed Tethys's suspicions that this one was male.  She hoped the second one would come with them a bit more easily than this guy had.

The makeshift woody sled made their return to the Col much faster than it had taken them to get beyond it. She didn't get many chances to go exploring in the Col so she decided this time while they set out for the other goat that she would observe her new home more closely.

"Right, I couldn't tell which one this was, do the females have smaller horns, or was that herd all males?" She asked the hunter as they pulled it into the center. Not where to put it? Maybe while they went to grab the other they could leave it tied to a stake near the towering obelisk. It had writing on it that she hadn't had a chance to study yet. Another time perhaps. Upon closer inspection of the floor of the Col it was rather graveley and maybe not the greatest place to stake an animal with all the loose stones. Probably tying him to a tree would be better.

"Let's bring him this way and maybe we can set a trap for the female. I got some more rope in the storehouse I can grab." She mentioned as she nodded toward the edge of the Col by the trees. What kind of trap could they set up that would catch but not hurt the goat?

Dragging the goat back was surprisingly easy, far easier than roping it in the first place. They made their way to the pack's central area, between the high-reaching mountains that towered around Armada's main meeting area. "It's a little harder to tell than it is with some animals. The females do have smaller horns, tend to be a little less stocky too," Tethys explained.

Ignita made a suggestion to move the male to the edge of the treeline, which made sense, though initially she'd thought of trying to tie him to the obelisk as well. Might take too much rope to tie around the monument anyway too. "This tree looks sturdy enough," she said as they moved to the trees, finding one that seemed strong, barely swaying as she bumped her shoulder into the trunk. Carefully she moved to wrap her end around the tree, circling it a good dozen times before calling it good. Surely the goat could escape if he tried hard enough but she doubted he'd figure it out.

"Is there any kind of netting in the storehouse? Maybe it'd be less risky than using a thin rope," she suggested, imagining a more wide netting might help contain their next goat better without running the risk of hurting it permanently. "I can start dragging this back toward the herd while you find something else?" the goat had moved off their makeshift sled, and Tethys moved to grab the piece of bark they'd found, grabbing it between her jaws and starting the journey back.
