Don't Look Down

Avacyn walked near the edge of the cliffs, keeping enough of a distance to prevent herself from feeling as though she might fall if the rock crumbled slightly but close enough that she could easily see the waves down below. The water was surprisingly still and the reflection of the rock made it look like the cliffs could go on forever. She had been scouting the thicket that connected to a part of Elysium's borders when the trees and brush eventually opened out into this sheer drop, almost as if the land had been broken off by some massive creature long ago. Even though she had lived in this area for nearly her whole life she hadn't done more than pass through many the lands that butted up against their own territory so she figured she ought to remedy that. It wasn't as if they were in need of more land or space to stretch out more than they already were, but she did like to think fancifully into the future from time to time, wondering if there might ever be a time when Elysium was so prosperous that they might begin to outgrow the lands that they currently called home. It was an unlikely dream, but she liked to be prepared for any and all possibilities so here she was, getting to know the areas of the continent closest to her home.

Cifarelli was on a mission. One that no other knew of. Except for Merizi who sat so delicately around the thickness of his neck. If she did not flick out her tongue occasionally, someone would have probably mistaken her as a simple accessory. The thought alone made him chuckle. Causing the serpent to nudge his chin with her nose. Had something happened? Rizi’s curiosity t’wards why the vibration occurred was responded with a shake of her master’s head. Those piercing liquid reds gazing down to assure she had nothing to worry about. Which left no argument when she returned to her usual position. His steps were forever careful around these newfound lands. The cliffs here fell into a deep drop which would easily take both of their lives. Pebbles that escaped from beneath his paws tumbled down the slopes. Easily landing into the crashing summer waters below. He made sure to keep his balance as steady as possible. Wanting nothing more than to avoid any injuries. He knew eventually he’d have to hunt. The growling of his stomach seconding that motion. And lucky for him, his pet could hunt small mice on her own. Which is why she was currently in the place she was. The heat from that particular area helped with the digestion. Such a perfect pair they were. It wasn’t until another set of rocks fell did he realize that they were not alone. Snapping his attention to a much larger woman ahead. Her body light, hips thick and curves quite slender. He gave a short bark to make his presence known. Having learned his lesson from the last time he’d ran into a female. Their encounter did not go as planned and he wasn’t even in the mood to be the asshole that he was. This place was surely changing him. Something he did not know how to feel about. "Speaks"

A bark pulled her attention from the landscape she had been admiring and her ebony gaze turned to look at a male that was colored with shades of gray and black. He was a few inches shorter than she was, but heavier built. She gave him a nod of acknowledgment since their paths were quickly converging as the two of them walked along the sheer cliff face–though he stood closer to the edge than she dared to, close enough to make the soft clattering of pebbles be heard over the sound of the distant, rushing waves. "A lovely view, isn't it?" she asked conversationally as they drew close enough to speak comfortably. Now that she was a bit closer she could get a better idea of his scent and there was no familiar notes to it that she could recognize so he wasn't part of a family she was familiar with nor a pack it seemed like. Although, upon further inspection, there were a number of scents intermingled with his so perhaps he did stick together with some kind of group even if it wasn't a pack. A family group or band perhaps? "I'm Avacyn, by the way. You are?" She hadn't come out here with the intention of making new friends, but it wasn't that often these days that she came across anyone that she didn't at least know where they came from so he sparked a bit of curiosity.

Her words reached him before she did. Though they weren't quite too far in distance, he took note of how she chose to keep a bit of space between herself and the very edge of the cliff. While he continued to travel the length of it without fear. Small pebbles tumbled down the length of the stone structure. Clattering along until they hit the rushing waves below. The water itself crashed effortlessly into the rocky walls. Spraying whatever lingered below with small droplets. It all did display such beautiful scenery. Far better than what he was used to from their old lands. Cifar's tail gave a light brush to his thighs. Rizi shifted just a bit to see what the two wolves were discussing. Her own blood gaze looked down with small interest in the area. Choosing better to stay inside the depths of the dark coat of her master. "Indeed it is. I am Cifarelli." "Speaks"
