There was a break in the clouds today, allowing the warm sunlight to reach the ground and Enki had decided that he and Tazzy were going out to explore. So, with his boyfriend secured on his back, the pink man carefully made his way out to where he had heard of a little paradise that lay hidden in the swirling sand dunes. He had packed them plenty of water and snacks in saddle bags that hung off his sides so that the pair could comfortably traverse into the heart of the desert.

It doesn’t take them terrible long to find the oasis, the cool, clear pool of water glimmering in the winter sunlight like a hidden diamond. Moving to the water’s edge, Enki lowers himself to the ground so that Tazzy can disembark and explore the place as well. Shrugging off the saddlebags, the pink man then lowers his head to the water and takes a long drink, enjoying the tickle of the cold water in his throat.

Once he is done, he lifts his head, eyeing the tall palm trees that grow around the pool of life sustaining water and moves underneath one to help block the worst of the sun. With a content sigh, he settles onto a small patch of grass, enjoying the greenery as he looks to Tazzy, smiling brightly at the smaller man as he asks, “So. Whatca think?” A brow cocks in question as he watches his boyfriend, curious to hear what he thinks of this place.


"Enki Klein"

Tazzy was always happy to go and explore, especially if he was with Enki. Honestly, he was happy doing anything with the other man, but seeing new places with him was one of his favorite. Enki had heard of a place and Tazzy didn't need any other reason to want to see it. A little paradise? In the desert? He was in! Even if it wasn't so exciting on its own, he was happy as long as he was with Enki.

It was made even better by the fact that he was carried; his shorter stride meant nearly twice the amount of walking required to get there, but even though he was pretty small, he was sure Enki was paying a price by carrying the extra weight. He had already planned on making him a nice dinner in their new den, but as the arrived at the little oasis, Tazzy was starting to get other plans.

Back on his own paws, he looked around from the calm pool of water to the astoundingly tall palm trees in awe. It felt like a little beach, and he almost expected to see little starfish and hermit crabs in the warm sand. He turned back to Enki, a wide smile on his face. "It's beautiful! Like a little tropical paradise," he said and looked upwards towards the tops of the palm trees, wondering what it would be like if they were actually at a tropical beach paradise.

As Enki reclined in the shade, cooling off from their little trip out here, he watches his colorful boyfriend wander around the little paradise they had trekked out to. Head bobs in agreement at Tazzy’s words and he sighs happily while slowly lowering himself down to his belly. The sand is soft and the sparse patch of grass he had found is a wonderful cushion against the grittiness of the small granules. The tall palm tree that offers him shade leans slightly to the side, as if its long leaves are trying to reach toward the cool pool for a drink.

A warm breeze weaves its way through the land, sending small currents of sand to swirl on top of the dunes. Opening one long arm, he invites Tazzy to join as he says, “It is wonderful and makes me feel as if we are the only two wolves in the world.” Another warm breath of wind sends the palm leaves above waving as if in silent agreement to his statement.


"Enki Klein"

The oasis was beautiful, even in the middle of winter and in a desert. A little paradise getaway that he and Enki could share. Maybe it was silly of him to be thinking of marriage so soon, but he could see it here. Underneath the palm trees and playing in the pool of water. It might be too hot in the summer, and the spring might be too soon, but the fall? That would make for a beautiful wedding.

He returned to Enki as he spoke, smiling at him and enjoying the breeze as it passed. Joining him and snuggling up close underneath his foreleg, Tazzy sighed contentedly. This was perfect, absolutely perfect. "I bet the sunset is beautiful here... could we stay and watch it?" he asked with wide, begging puppy eyes as he gazed up at his boyfriend, knowing it wouldn't take much to convince to him stay now and even again later when he'd convince him that it was too late to go back and that they should just stay here and enjoy this little slice of tropical paradise.

Enki lounges underneath the tall palm tree, its fan-like leaves offering some very welcomed shade after traveling in a seemingly endless desert. Tongue lolls from his mouth as he pants slightly, the walk, while prepared for, had still long and hot for the pale man. The sun sparkles on the crystalline surface of the cool water, another wonderful reprieve from the endless dunes that can make wolves go crazy from unquenchable thirst. Each hot breath of wind that tickles his coat and teases the short blades of grass around him makes him grateful that they decided to visit now, in the winter months.

It feels like they are hidden from the prying eyes of passersby, as if this is their own personal oasis that has been unspoiled by any other wolves. Leaves wave as softer breeze winds its way over the dunes, gently pushing granules along the top of ridges until they are forced to tumble down the sides and find a new home. For winter, the leaves and grass around here are still a vibrant green and stand as a testament to the life-giving water that feeds this tiny paradise. Attention turns away from the sand dunes that enclose the area, cutting it off from the bleak desert that stretches out in all directions and instead, focuses on the colorful man.

Talking with Tazzy, the smaller man’s question pulls a warm smile onto his face as he snuggles in with his colorful boyfriend, chest rumbling in what seems to be asemi-purr as he says, “Oh, I think we can stay. I did pack enough for an overnight trip.” He holds the man that changed his life for the better, in a loving and tender embrace. Neck drapes over the smaller form as he rests his head next to Tazzy’s and darts a gentle lick to the side of the other man’s muzzle, ready to enjoy their little get away to the fullest.
