One could never practice their craft enough, so Dusk took every opportunity to work with Whisper. The midnight fae took some time away from The Hallows, heading towards the dormant volcano that she knew was riddled with foes. The big, nasty spiders that called the place home would be nice targets for her weapon.

The scuttling of arachnids could be heard before she even reached the rock strewn land. Fiery eyes caught glimpses of them between the boulders. This area wasn't open enough to utilize Whisper, so she passed them by, going instead to a wide field of emptiness. Well... not emptiness so much as small rocks and not big ones.

Assuming their numbers would grant them victory, spiders came out of their hidey holes and made a beeline for the antlered woman. With practiced ease, Dusk whipped her prehensile tail, the glimmering cat-o-nines cutting through the air to sever limbs, slice through thoraxes and generally just make a huge mess of the place.

"Dusk Carpathius"

Ellara's tall form emerged from the misty shadows of Brimstone Lake, her fur a bit damp while her keen eyes surveyed the chaos of Dusk valiantly fighting against the spiders. The sight of a midnight fae wielding her weapon with deadly precision spurred Ellara into action.

"Halia, Eos, to me!" she called to her owls, their dark forms swiftly taking to the sky. With a series of sharp commands, she directed them to dive and strike, their talons and beaks finding arachnids in their grasp with each swoop.

Joining Dusk, Ellara's movements were a dance of agility and strength, she was tall but also light. Her bracers gleamed against the fading light of the sky as she swiped at the encroaching spiders, aiming for their legs and eyes to make sure they didn't get back up. A particularly large spider lunged at her, but she sidestepped, slashing at it's abdomen with a precise strike.

"Yuck," she said, shaking her leg of the spider's insides. Something inside her wanted to scream from the reality of her current situation, but she kept her resolve. "We can clear them out together!" She called out to the midnight fae, her paws quick to keep her moving away from the swarm. Her owls were quick to dive if a spider ventured too close, their coordinated attacks disturbing the swarm's advance. Perhaps a bit too trusting, she moved towards the fae as the spiders enclosed around them from all sides. Their combined efforts kept a circle clear around them as Ellara kept her back to the fae, and her front snapping and slashing at each spider that came her way.

The sudden presence of another was a little surprising as Dusk hadn't expected anyone else to be there at that moment. Or ever, really. It was a nasty place, so why would anyone in their right mind want to visit it? You know... other than herself.

Dusk's long, prehensile tail whipped about with audible snaps as she aimed towards this spider and the next. How many had they killed now? Hundreds? Owls swooped down at the earthen fae's bidding. Dusk had left her companions at home. It was difficult enough to use Whisper with them around. It was hard to use her weapon with the owls about as well, so she periodically had to resort to stomping them with her clawed paws. There was no way in hell she was putting a spider in her mouth.

"Dusk Carpathius"

Ellara noted the flicker of surprise in Dusk's eyes but wasted no time. "Keep moving; we've got this!" she called out, directing her owls to avoid the whirling path of Dusk's weapon. Halia and Eos adjusted their flight, targeting the spiders that were further away from the stranger.

Her own movements were swift and calculated, darting between the arachnids with precision. She used her claws and bracers to slice through the smaller ones, while her owls took care of those higher up. Another large spider lunged at her, but Ellara deftly sidestepped, ramming it with her shoulder before delivering a fatal blow to its thorax.

"Stay focused on your swings. I'll cover the gaps," Ellara instructed, her voice steady despite the chaos. She crushed smaller spiders underfoot, ensuring they couldn't regroup. The combined efforts of Ellara, her owls, and Dusk formed an unyielding force against the onslaught of arachnids.

It was... interesting... that this strange woman thought that Dusk needed instruction. She had clearly been doing just fine on her own. The dark fae had to put herself in check, reminding herself that not everyone thought the way that she did. As far as this other fae knew, Dusk was fighting off attackers rather than initiating the attacking. The Carpathian princess took a deep breath and continued her training.

Again and again Whisper whipped back and forth. Legs and segments of body flew and the ground was soon wet enough to look as though it had rained in just this spot alone. The numbers of arachnids began to dwindle until only the smallest were left. They weren't of any use to Dusk, so she decided that her training was complete.

Holding her tail off of the ground so that it didn't get even more mucky, the antlered fae padded out of the spider spattered clearing and closer to the edge of the land where there was less rock and more grass. She gave Whisper a wipe on said grass, but would have to do a deep cleaning after.

Fiery eyes moved towards the earthen-hued fae and Dusk nodded. "You fight well," she complimented. Acknowledgement where it was due. She wondered what the woman was doing out here, but didn't ask. It wasn't any of her business, afterall.

Ellara soon realized that Dusk was more than capable of handling herself, as she watched Whisper take care of absolutely everything save for a few smaller spiders. With a subtle nod, she adjusted her approach, directing Halia and Eos to focus on the further areas away from the weapon.

Ellara moved fluidly, her actions complimenting Dusk's without imposing on her space. She sliced through the spiders with her bracers when they dared to creep too close. As the ground grew slick with the remnants of the spiders, she couldn't help but admire the efficiency of Dusk's technique.

As the end of the assault of arachnids neared, Ellara stepped back slightly, allowing Dusk some space once again. Dusk complimented her and Ellara gave a modest smile. "And you fight with great skill," Ellara said, her tone respectful. She gave a slight nod of acknowledgement, appreciating the fierce display she had just witnessed from the stranger. "It's good to see such dedication," she let her words hang in the air, a silent understanding passing between them as they both tended to their post battle clean-up.

"My name is Ellara Praetor," she introduced herself, her voice warm despite the exhaustion of battle. "I couldn't help but notice your impressive technique - it's like you've done this before. Were you attacking the spiders on purpose, or did they catch you by surprise?" Her curiosity was genuine, her eyes reflecting a keen interest in the fierce fae's motivations.
