To hot for this.
Everything felt unfamiliar to the brute as his paws sank into the dried grasses, each blade pricking at his tender pads like countless needles. He realized he was farther away from the Alabastrine Shrine than he had been since arriving in these strange lands, where he had finally found Atreyu and the others. However, today he needed to clear his mind of recent events. A temperate grassland stretched out before his ice-blue gaze, with most of the grasses drying and brittle to the touch, while patches remained a deep green. The sky was overcast, holding the promise of rain later, and he hoped it would hold off just a bit longer; he wanted to explore the prairie ahead of him.
He wasn't one to stray far from his family or pack, yet there was a persistent urge within him to seek out new hunting grounds or possibly form alliances with another pack or a rogue. As his eyes swept the landscape, he observed pronghorns grazing on the tougher blades of grass and hares nibbling on purple clover shoots. He licked his lips, his natural curiosity pulling him to linger a bit longer. Some deer emerged from their hiding spots, while birds took to the sky. Vayne was fully immersed in the world around him.
He would gather some strong vines that grew like wild fire across the ground, ears listening carefully. The male tested some vines and placed the good ones to the side, discarding the rest. It was time consuming sure, but for what he needed it for, they had to be strong, able to hold some power. He tugged and tore, breaking a heavier vine that was within his way to make it stick out of the ground enough that if he was lucky the pronghorn wouldn't be paying attention at all, when that time came.

Trixy was once again trotting through the prairie, Frank hot on her heels. She was on a path to return home after a few more days, having done most of the hunting she had wanted though she was still wanting to do a little more. She had stashed some of her catches though attached to the horn of Frank's saddle was the leftover quails caged and the pigs she had left tied up closer to home. She wanted to get something to bring home to smoke for her dad, especially since he hadn't had something smoked since Norad had fallen. And with him down with his leg she wanted to make sure he was taken care of.
Her dual toned eyes caught on the pronghorn and she grinned. Perfect! but how to catch them.... They had failed once already. She moved her head looking around to catch on a earthen pelt. A smile formed. He seemed hard at work sorting out vines. Maybe he might help her out. "Hey! I'm Bellatrix Ravenwood, you wouldn't happen to be trying to catch one of those pronghorn would you? And if you are mind if I help you for a haunch off one so I can smoke it when I get home?" She approached him with a wag to her tail waiting for his okay before she moved to help him sort out the vines. Her mind already working out how to make the vines more sturdy.

Vayne was working his magic he known how to build traps. As another caught his attention, ears swivel upon her skull. She was so small, he listened to her speak as he continued to work on the snare trap he was making. The snare would wrap around one of the pronghorns legs, holding him or her still. He noted how she had offered a warm smile. "Hello Bellatrix." His voice gruff with accents melting together. "If you wouldn't mind helping. I am testing the vines for strenght so the type of snare trap wont break."
He was worried due to her size but it would all hopefully work out in the end. Vayne honestly would hope so that is. Sure, he was worried because she was much smaller and slender which could actually help out in the long run, but he wasn't going to allow her to get hurt also. "Vayne Morningstar." He spoke before testing more and tieing them almost skillfully into a noose type style.

Find me where the wild things are She grinned as he explained what he was doing. She eagerly jumped in to help, grabbing a few vines when her brain started working. She knew one wasn't always as strong as multiple. "What if we braid them together for sturdier and stronger lines to work with. That way we can be certain they don't get free." Dual toned eyes cast to his face for a moment. then she went back to sorting through the vines. "or we make two snares that snare the same leg in two different directions...." She gave him a grin as she tugged a vine free from the rest. Pronghorn weren't the easiest since they could get away rather easily but they definitely could do this. She mirrored his motions after she watched him tie a vine up. Her's wasn't as practiced nor as skillful but she definitely was trying her best. Walk, "Talk", Think |

Vayne wasn't ignoring the girl, but instead he listened. A smile crossing over muddied lips, sure she had to be right. They would work best if braided together, would only help the vines for the stare become stronger and not easy to break especially if they landed one. The girl had ideas and Vayne enjoyed the ideas that she spoke out. His ice blue pools land upon her. "I believe that could work best Bellatrix." He braided the vines that he already began to work upon, however his larger paws made it slightly more difficult.
"Would you possibly mind braiding them while I make them into the snares? My paws are much bigger, while you may make easier work of the braids." He chuckled out, but in the end he only cared that his attempts would work. There was always that chance that this wouldn't work in their favor. But he would hope and pray that it would. And if it did, his family would eat tonight.
