He had only poked his nose down before, too worried about drifts of snow falling through the ceiling and bringing the whole place down around his ears to explore it properly. Now he slipped beneath the ground to escape the last of autumn's heat, shaking his pelt out once he hit the floor, basking in the subterranean coolness that permeated the place.
It smelled musty, motes dancing through the beams of light that shot down from small breaks in the roof overhead and he wondered if they were made, or just a sign of his impending fear of collapse? He moved to make room for Siduri to join him, taking in the rotted cloth that seemed to wrap around long since desiccated corpses of strange monkey-like beasts, the corner of his mouth pulling down in revulsion. There was something about the way the bones were put together that simply looked... wrong. He even tried to mimic the way the bones were laid out by rising up on his hind legs and dropping his forepaws down but he quickly lost his balance.
A cold shiver ran down his spine. "What do you think they were?"

After her battle with the worm and yet another knock to her head, Siduri had been laying low. Sakana had been caring for her as though he was her own personal physician. Sid quite liked that. His company was easy and she'd come to simply expect the earthen man to just be there. When he wasn't, she felt... off? Sad? She didn't fucking like it, that was for sure.
With her head having healed enough to venture out of her treehouse, Sakana led her out into the moor and towards a place that he'd discovered. Sid was intrigued by the possibility of being the first into a new place and so she followed him along diligently, enjoying the view as they walked. Yeah, she was looking at Sakana's ass. Wanna fight?
Dipping into the cold, musty ground, the pair came out into a cavernous space filled with plants, various pieces of pottery and cases of strange bones. Sakana's voice was soft as though he didn't want to disturb this place. He questioned her and Siduri shrugged lightly. "Some sort of long-legged monkey? Look at the skull shape." Sid rose up to get a closer look at one of the skulls and a few of the bone pieces jostled free, clattering to the ground. With a grimace, Sid shot a look over her shoulder at her companion. "Oops..."
