No matter what, they could not let the bird take flight. Regardless of how high they jumped, once it was in air it was highly unlikely they'd be able to catch it. And even Hattori's bird would find it near impossible to take on such a large bird alone, with backup standing on the ground and looking up helplessly. He knew they were nesting nearby and thus at their most vulnerable, the albatross knew this as well and as such were extra vigilant, remaining quiet to listen to whatever threats lurked nearby. Wolves by nature were not made for stealth, it was difficult for Hattori to move through the underbrush without making a sound and thus the pair had some trouble approaching. Inching closer and closer, Hattori glanced over his shoulder. What was the best way to go about this?

He slowed a little, gesturing with his head for Kuroo to take the lead, being the faster of the two. If he were to make the initial grab, so to speak, Hattori could weigh in and help pin the bird down.
