He couldn’t help it. A laugh worked its way out from under his melancholy, and he shook his head at her, the laughter still settling comfortably between them. He kissed her back, aiming this time for her lips. Today, he didn’t care who saw them. His children deserved to know the right way, but he needed the comfort he gained from her. He needed her.

“If anyone can gain victory today, it’s you” He told her, his words equally as dramatic, matching her energy. Reluctantly, he pulled away from her. Brushing one last kiss against her cheek before making his way further into the storage, where he could start tearing apart the shelves for easier removal.
