The World Needs More of You and Me

Aliana was not unfamiliar with her husband and mate's love for children. For all the tough front he put up, Ali couldn't recall a time she had ever seen Chimera as happy as he was when he was surrounded by puppies, newborn and juvenile alike. Since their return to Ashen, the clouded fae had watched as he invested himself in the training and upbringing of his sister's newest litter, from small pups into adolescents, and again when his nephew brought his own children around for a visit. It brought a loving smile to Aliana's face to watch Chi interacting with children, truly a man in his element. Their own children had been grown and gone for some time now, leaving the Kleins to handle the empty nest syndrome on their own, and while Ali was the proudest of mothers to see her children off and thriving on their own, it did make her heart ache to yearn for the days of puppy cuddles and days of play and exploration.

That was why she knew sooner or later Chimera would feel that urge for another litter. It was never a question of if for the clouded fae, but when. That answer came when her split-toned brute came to invite her out on a little vacation out to the nearby desert, just the two of them. Never one to refuse her love's requests and desires, Ali began making preparations immediately while Chimera set to gathering up supplies for them. Since the birth of their daughter some time ago, Aliana had once more resumed her birth control regiment so that she may continue to satisfy her husband's desires without the worry of breaking Ashen law by creating unplanned pups. However, the petite fae always had a backup plan. During her family's time in foreign lands working with skilled doctors from various nations, she had learned a thing or two to add to her repertoire. One of those things was a quick acting medicine to negate the effects of her personal blend of contraceptive; one dose and thirty minutes was all that was needed, and the mottled fae would be as fertile as she ever was, just enough time for Chimera to really get into the heat of things. A highly effective kill switch to her family planning should the need or desire ever arise with her beloved brute.

Aliana quietly slipped the drug into her leather satchel along with her other oils and shampoos she used for grooming and tossed it into the wagon along with the rest of their supplies, just in case. With her heat season coming in strong since the turn of the season into winter, Ali had a sneaking suspicion she would be doing quite a lot of grooming during their trip. The two wolves walked together from Ashen's borders on a short trip into the desert to the oasis Chimera knew of. Paws pressing into the soft sands and leaving a trail behind them, Aliana marveled at the feeling of the ground shifting and pressing beneath her. She had seen sand on beaches before, but never whole lands claimed by the sedimentary turf before! They arrived at the oasis just as dusk began to claim the land, a sea of stars slowly becoming visible in the darkening sky and the waters of the oasis shimmering in the fading sunset. It was a gorgeous sight, enough to evoke a gasp of awe from the tiny fae.

Chimera asked what he thought of it and she could only give him a wide smile. "I never knew such a place could exist! It's gorgeous!" she replied with apt delight, leaning her slender side into his muscled form as they approached the place that would be their home for a short while. It was beautiful and quiet and solitary. It was perfect for them. "There's not a soul around for miles," she noted as her paws crossed from silty sand to lush grass. "No one would ever know we were out here." The fae glanced back to her behemoth of a brute with a knowing smirk resting casually on her lips, her tail flicking with a little flourish to allow more of her heat scent to perfume the air. Oh yeah, she was onto him. But she'd have her fun playing along with Chimera and feeding into his desires. The only lingering question in her mind was whether this trip was for a couples' romantic retreat or if he planned on returning home with a few additional souvenirs of their time together.
