a thorn in the paw

The snowy peaks of Fenrir’s Maw have quickly become the rotund girl’s favorite place since the soft powder offers a wonderful way to cool off. Unagi has found that burying herself in the snow not only offers a chance to escape the heat that her body produces when she exercises but allows her a chance to watch her packmates without being too intrusive. Today though, she is not hidden underneath the cold blanket of white but, instead, is descending from the towering heights down to the Steppes in the hopes of catching some unsuspecting prey.

A call is issued from the lands ahead of her, the words spoken in a tongue unknown to the girl but the intent behind it rings clear. Someone wishes to fight and the girl is all too eager to answer. Black and white paws quickly pick their way down to the grass and, from there, the tall, slightly round pup quickly moves to answer the challenge. Arriving at a trot, Unagi slows her pace until she has stopped a few feet from the unknown female. Tilting her head to the side, the girl asses the strange, tattooed woman before offering up her own name, “I’m Unagi.”

Words are a frivolous commodity and no more needed than what she offers. Paws spread until they shoulder width apart and the girl quickly sets her defenses in preparation for the fight ahead, ready and more than willing to spar.
