There was a characteristic crunch to paws on, or in, snow and Tomie was ready to ignore whoever was approaching her. Give them her usual glare if they decided to ignore the "leave me alone" vibes she hoped she was exuding. Or that had been the plan, but as a heavy accent reached her ears and Tomie turned to look at the woman who was deciding to intrude on her time, she found her face didn't listen to her intention. It was an older woman, her body speaking of a life of battle and though she was smaller than Tomie there was something in her that led Tomie to believe she was facing down a warrior who could, and would, easily take Tomie down if she had to. And for the first time in her life, though she'd been passively aware of it on some level for most of her life, Tomie realized she absolutely found women attractive. Only took her until the last season before she was a full fledged adult, but hey she hadn't exactly had what most would consider a "typical" childhood or teenage years, socialization hadn't exactly been a thing before now.
All of which was to say when she turned icy blues towards the older woman the glare had dissolved to be replaced with open gaping. Gay panic. She didn't know the term but anyone familiar would have recognized it. Tomie was much too guarded as a rule for her open, somewhat adoring, staring to last long though and she snapped her jaw shut with a snap, forcing her gaze back down to her paws as she felt her stomach go funny and some heat rushing to her face. Luckily it seemed the woman was moving away and Tomie kept her head ducked as she fought to keep any of what had just crashed through her from showing more than it already had. "Nothing yet." She said quietly, not finding it in herself to be much louder than the minimum needed to make sure the woman could hear her. What was wrong with her? Normally she hated the accent several of the wolves here shared, the black man and his sibling, that weird little one in particular who didn't seem to be comfortable with the common tongue the way their siblings were and yet, for reasons she was doing her very best to ignore, she found it quite pleasant coming from the older woman. "Worried most of it didn't survive the cold." Paws scraped the snow again and she snorted as a frost rimmed and browned grass started to peek through. Tomie was not normally social outside of her mother and sister... What was she doing?
