Delphi recovered from her smack to the wall as quickly as she could. Blinking away the stars, she watches as Medusa and her companions tear and rip at the bear. Wanting to be helpful, she staggers to her paws and wastes no time jumping back in. Rushing forward, the small girl heads straight for the bear's front. Dipping under the lashing face of the bear's mouth, she jumps up and latches on to the bear's throat. Whipping her own body back and forth, she falls away with a chunk of the bear's fur and skin in her mouth. Blood pours down onto her face as she stumbles backward once more. If the bear was not dead before, surely it would be now.
