Nothing's New

Absinth's burst of anger humanised her in a way that nothing else really had before now. Raka stifled a snort behind a paw, finding the words similar to something her father might have said. No nonsense wolf that he was.


Her story was told, and she was delighted by Absinth's reaction to it. “Are you saying my tongue is going to get me into trouble?” the young wolf teased, but it was clear she relished the attention. “Every story important to my heart will have reference in my horns. Perhaps one day there will be a lifetime to be found there.” She said, her voice growing a little wistful. She intended to keep each stone she added for the rest of her days, so Absinth had no need to worry there.


Raka settled down on the ground in front of Absinth. Like a child tucking in for a bedtime story, as she settled her elegant horned head over her paws and looked up at Absinth. “Maybe I like a good scary story.” She battered her eyes at the older wolf enjoying herself far too much. “If I get too scared, I might need to find a wolf to sleep beside tonight”
