Nothing's New

Raka’s eyes flashed as Absinth took a step forward, a grin peeking out from under the shadows of her cheeks. She was very curious to know how Absinth would respond. But the pale beauty halted after just one step, and Raka knew she was being teased. Her blood was up, and she felt as if she was walking on a cliff's edge. She wasn’t entirely sure why she teased Absinth so, or why it mattered so much to her to get a reaction from the other wolf.

She knew she’d scored the hit because she’d surprised the other wolf, and she likely wouldn’t do so again as easily. A sample, Absinth called it. Alright, Raka would play the other wolfs game.

She focused on Absinth’s stance and tried to mimic what she could. Raising her hackles, and flattening her ears. Absinth snapped her teeth, which earned a twitch of a smile from Raka, who was trying to be a little more serious now. Raka licked her lips, stretching her toes into the earth before her in a slow, flexing motion.

Yes, she was trying to distract the other wolf. She shot forward suddenly, aiming to slam closed the distance between them as she attempted to ram her horns into Absinth’s right shoulder. Baring her teeth at the other wolf as she did so.
