It was no surprise that summers were stifling in the south. Though only the bifrost disconnected them from the winter of Auster, the sun beat down mercilessly. His tongue lolled from his mouth, panting loudly as he lounged in the shadows trying to cool off. Paws had dug him down into a hole where the sand was cooler beneath the surface. Content to relax in the shade for an afternoon, the hours wound down until the sun dipped below the horizon. As night passed overhead, stars twinkling above him, he caught the sound of someone crossing the beach. His yellow goat eyes scan the surroundings until he sees Modesty making her way to the archipelago. Curious because when was Gil not curious? He stands, almost lazily, not wanting to make his presence that obvious. No, he knows that she is still furious with him. Has every right to be. But he still wants to ensure her safety. Or just simply be around her because he did still love her. Following at a decent pace, he doesn't draw closer until he is following her down the worn paths that she knew as home once upon a time ago. Letting out a quiet noise to alert her to him being nearby, Gil still keeps his distance. He doesn't want to crowd her. Piss her off even more? No thanks. |
