Wylan had been there to see his grandfather off, and then he had snuck out to follow the cart a little ways away. He was a little surprised that no one had noticed him, and super impressed with himself. But he didn’t want to get too far away, and he knew that if his grandfather caught him he’d be in a lot of trouble.

So, inevitably, he turned around and came back. Only, the scene he encountered was far different to the scene he had left behind. He smelled blood… was Basilisk bleeding? Why were people yelling, and being all mad? He was just in time to see Crux storm off, and then Charlton, who seemed super sad and upset, left as well. He was too young to know that having favourites wasn’t a good thing. But Charlie was his favourite. He chased after the older wolf with determination, his wings snapping in and out at his side as he leaped after him. “Charlie, Charlie, come back!” He cried out, determined to make his Uncle happy again.
