Celeste had claimed this place once, well before Maki had been born, but it still kinda felt like home. The sanctuary of it, or so she daydreamed as she approached, not realising someone had found the Oasis before her. She'd built it up in her mind as some sort of paradise and maybe for a time it had been, with dens dug out in the sand, and comfortable lounges laid with pillows and furs to sleep the afternoon away on. But her imagination remained bright and vivid even now, and reality couldn't quite line up with what she'd built up in her mind. It was too hot for one and she found herself rushing towards the water with no mind that it was already occupied, that she wasn't alone.
She drank with hasty swipes of her tongue, little elegance or grace, near slobbering the spring water all over herself till she'd gotten her fill. It was only when she raised her head, droplets falling from her maw did she notice. Oops.
Tall and looming and with such a hefty build it looked like he could beat the snout out of people with just his shoulder muscles alone. She didn't know how, maybe he'd flex them into submission. His coat was dark, would have just been that were it not for the slash of white that crossed his face, wandered off down his neck, maybe onto his belly too? She not so subtly tilted her head, bowing a little to see if his tummy was white too.
"Oh hi!" She finally said, as if just remembering that was a thing.
