The compliment earns a brief grin from Nami, though she doesn't let it deter her from trying to win. Though not normally competitive she found herself wanting to impress Kuroo, though whatever outcome happened she'd be equally as happy about, whether it was her responsibility to prepare dinner or his. Both sounded like great outcomes to her no matter who won. A laugh left her lips as she flew past him, only gaining distance on him for a moment before he appeared in her peripheral vision, catching up to her. She didn't quite catch that he'd slowed for a moment to check on her, instead climbing back to her paws and kicking forward even harder than before. She heard him scrambling just ahead of her as she aimed to pull past him, hoping she could maintain a lead on him, however slight it might be.
