Sakana was becoming busier and busier by the day with both Jael and Modesty pregnant. Having two females pregnant at the same time and due around the same time was a lot to handle. Gilgamesh could commend the boy for being so devout to them and caring to their every need and request. He couldn’t quite get into it. Didn’t really see the reason why they were being so needy. Their paws worked, right?

The lack of empathy had indeed put a wall between them for now, but there was some understanding to it. Gilgamesh wasn’t quite right in the head and they still weren’t sure if he’d ever return to normal. Normal was subjective though and why he was making his way through the moor toward the den of his son, Nimbus. The small cloud splattered boy had voiced an interest in the healing arts, and with Sakana’s approval had said Gilgamesh could seek him out for treatment. Deep down, he knows it’s for company and an attempt to see if he can find the empathy he seems to be missing, but Gilgamesh wouldn’t reveal it unless asked.

So he walks leisurely as he does these days to where Nimbus has made himself a home. Now that their second brood was a year old, he could see how much they had really grown. No longer were they the beach stranded pups trying to drown or get into trouble or dig pits beneath buildings. Well, as he stands in that dew laden grass, his head canting to the side, Gilgamesh isn’t quite sure of that last statement. Not only does he see a den large enough for the boy, but also a work in progress pit nearby with a garden to boot. Another pit? For what? Surely Nimbus didn’t think eels could survive there…

Clearing his throat, Gilgamesh takes a seat and settles himself into a comfortable position. “Nimbus, your patient has arrived,” he calls out, tone vacant of much of anything where humor should have been. Waiting patiently, he continues to examine the pit and the garden, ever curious as to what the boy was up to.
