Alaric nodded, agreeing to the terms. "Maul, stay out of this." He told the cane corsos who simply nodded back in response. Alaric then checked his defenses, keeping an eye ont he stranger. His stance was wide for balance support, his chin tucked to protect his vitals, his tail aligned with his spine for better balance. Then, the Veigar bolted right for him.

Alaric would turn his body to the left to avoid getting a shoulder to the throat, but instead the shoulder of Veigar only collided with him and sent him back a few inches from where he was standing. He could feel the throbbing of the bruised shoulder, but at least he was still standing. Alaric then took this opportunity to make his first move. He would open his black maws wide and seek the side of Veigar's neck in an attempt to grab it with some force but not enough to draw blood.
