Disaster
To say the least, Atticus was beginning to feel a bit restless. He needed to do something—anything, really. The air was damp and cool, a sensation he appreciated, although once the chill settled into his bones, it was difficult to shake off. Still, he didn't mind. With a sense of confidence, his paws moved him forward as he surveyed his surroundings. The sound of water trickling down the gorge's walls and ceilings created a soothing melody that brought him peace and tranquility. He observed as various creatures and reptiles hurried toward small pools, while others darted around the presence of the large wolf.
An unexpected shiver crawled its way up the man's spine as he ventured deeper into the dim light of the gorge. Curious about where the various caves and small caverns might lead, he was exploring this area for the first time. Yet, he didn’t mind being alone; in fact, he found solace in solitude. It allowed him to reflect without anyone asking if he was okay. This evening, the brute held his head high, his tail relaxed and swaying gently behind him. His ears flicked and turned to catch the sounds of crickets, the flutter of moth wings, and the steady drip of water as it pooled in small pockets. It was quite pleasant down here if one took the time to simply observe. But how many people truly appreciated life’s little moments anymore? Hardly anyone, burdened as they were by their tasks and responsibilities.
Atticus ventured deeper into the gorge, where shadows enveloped the towering walls around him. He had no idea just how far he had descended, nor did he mind. He relished the solitude, finding comfort in his own thoughts—even if that wasn't always a positive experience. However, today felt different; it was a welcome respite. He flicked his tail, brushing away the persistent flies that buzzed around him. Their tiny bites on his legs were becoming bothersome, so he figured swatting them away was the simplest solution.
