An Oath of loyalty

Oath felt the satisfaction of his initial hit, but it was fleeting. Azriel’s smirk told him everything; he had been playing right into his friend’s hands. Before Oath could react, he found himself entangled in Azriel’s powerful legs, the sudden pressure around his neck forcing him to dig his paws into the ground for stability.

A snarl of frustration escaped Oath’s throat, but he knew better than to let it rattle him. Azriel's jaws were already closing in on his scruff, and Oath knew that if he didn’t act quickly, this spar would be over before it really began.

With a burst of instinct, Oath twisted his body, trying to use his smaller size to slip out of Azriel’s hold. Instead of trying to pull away, he pushed forward, aiming to duck under Azriel’s snapping jaws and wedge himself beneath his chest, using the momentum to force Azriel off balance while attempting to slip free of the grapple.

"Not so fast!" Oath growled, the adrenaline in his veins now coursing full force as he wriggled like a snake, doing everything he could to avoid getting pinned. His eyes locked onto Azriel’s, determined not to go down without a fight.
