Tethys Fatalis
The crisp morning wind bit at her features as she slowly made her way out of her den. For a good few weeks now she'd been laying low, recovering from the strange illness that had taken over so quickly. She'd never experienced anything like it before- and she hoped desperately she wouldn't again. Not feeling in control of her own mind had been terrifying. She'd been hallucinating, Oleander had told her. She didn't remember much about what she'd seen, only that she'd been afraid.
It was hard not to shake some of that fear now. They hadn't been infiltrated. They were safe. But that didn't mean she didn't feel unsettled. The shadows made her second-guess what she was looking at sometimes; and even now, as she trekked through the mountainous terrain, the various sounds she heard made her twist her head around and search for the source. The shadow cast by a bird that swooped overhead just barely hit the edge of her vision and she flinched, though she relaxed when she realized what it was, letting out a sigh as she continued on.
