"Do Not Enter" is written on the doorway Why can't everyone just go away? He was content to ignore Lailah and Ultyr, working to soothe his own frazzled nerves and the anger that sat in the front of his mind. It was better without them so close, easier to forget that he was sharing a camp with someone who saw slaves as property and as his god given right. Except that line of thinking right there brought the anger flooding back in, sitting doing nothing but letting him dwell. Which wouldn't work or he'd be awake the entire night with no sleep to speak of. He needed to do something to properly pull his mind away from the roil of ire and irritation that plagued him. ’Stay close.’ How about you go to hell. The thought of simply leaving and spending the night in the woods was strong, he didn't need to stay here in the camp. He had given Lailah what he could for the night, mint for her stomach and paws. He could absolutely handle himself, he wasn't a damsel in distress at the end of the day. Not a helpless thing, ever again. Attention is paid however, when he notices Ultyr is standing. Watching out of the corner of his eye so he can judge which way to go himself before hauling himself to his paws, a dull ache there reminding him how long they had traveled today. Regardless, he picked up his pelt to put over his shoulders and hummed quietly as he moved to slip out of the fire's light. Already he felt a little lighter at the idea of more space. Of not facing Lailah for the night, and not seeing what he easily could have become over time. He would never blame her, but she was a painful reminder none the less.
