The Unraveling - It Burns

The worm is chaos incarnate; its tendrils lash out like whips, flames licking out of its gaping maw, ashes drifting erratically through the air toward the skies.

A lash of a long tendril reaches out toward Gruesome as he moves to shove another boulder down into the pit, white-hot pain searing through his ear and leaving it torn. More rocks went tumbling down, and the worm finally begins to fumble.

At least a little bit.

Havoc charges headlong into the fight once again, and another tendril is sent lashing out, catching Havoc square on the right side of her jaw. The impact is hard and fast, sending her stumbling backwards, tasting blood on her tongue.

Ganymede succeeds in distracting the worm, though in its movements the rocks and debris surrounding the small crater begin to stir. The land beneath Ganymede's paws shifts sharply, sending him plummetting down hard, his back left leg fracturing in a sharp surge of pain.

Terror moves to reach his brother, but his paws give way beneath him as the ground shifts, his rank ankle twisting painfully. That's going to hurt for awhile.

Another tendril lashes out, lacerating the side of Kaija's face deeply as she lunges toward the worm, sending blood trickling down her fur; another slashes across Laz's cheek, leaving a burning gash.

One wolf manages to mangle one of its many tendrils, another distracting it enough to make it surge forward and nearly crash down, reeling around in an attempt to steady itself and unleashing a larger plume of fire around it in a wide arch. It is clearly beginning to falter now- disoriented, and further enraged.
